Online/phone psychologist

Online/phone psychologist

Hi everyone,

I am having my mental health plan done next week, and was wondering if anyone had an opinion on online or telehealth type psychology eg MeHelp Psychology.

I have trouble getting appointments in my are especially those that are bulk billed. My employer is happy to allow me time through the day to attend but I thought phone type counselling would be more logistically easier.

Just seeking opinion or experiences on what others have had. TIA

@Oaktree that is awesome, thanks so much for that. Hopefully I can find a telehealth one, as I am across the other side of the country.

@tyme Thanks for mentioning that I talk to a counsellor every few weeks through my EAP. I am one of the fortunate ones that have an employer that is very proactive with mental health

That's so good to hear @jrn . Having that support is so important.

Re: Online/phone psychologist

I see my psychologist, psychiatrist and dietitian all through Telehealth and I have found it to be really good @jrn

Where I live the is very limited options and the wait lists are really long so I was able to get in quicker. I actually met my psychologist while I was in hospital so we did a couple of face to face and the Telehealth when I went home. I do sometimes make the 4 hour trip down to see her in person but not very often. While it’s great to see her Telehealth works just as well. Plus you don’t have to shower and get dressed and go. I just put a clean top on and brush my hair. There is no pressure and I only have to be online 5 minutes before my appointments start. I live Telehealth!
