PARC : Adult Prevention and Recovery Care

PARC : Adult Prevention and Recovery Care

Hi everyone. I have been accepted into one of Victoria’s Prevention and Recovery Care centres. I’m currently waiting for a bed to become available. I have pretty severe complex PYSD, anxiety and depression. I’m currently a complete mess and can’t life at all. I’ve never been to a APARC and am reaching out to the community here to find out if anyone has been and what it was like for them. If you have attended a PARC and are open to sharing if it helped I’d be really wrapt.

Re: PARC : Adult Prevention and Recovery Care

Groups are psychoeducation groups. For me, each morning, in the morning meeting we got to choose from a choice board about what psycho education group we wanted including:

- sleep hygiene

- budgeting

- healthy eating

- mindfulness

- gut health

- assertiveness

- communication

- effective relationships

etc.

Then during the session, we got handouts. I've still got my handouts from each time I attended.

Then the 1:1 is with your key clinician as you work towards your recovery goals. @Cuddlebear

I hope you hear from them soon. Also, I believe at the end, you CAN ask for an extended stay, and if you can back up why, then they can consider it.
