What has been your highlight today, no matter how big or small? Come share 🫶

Hi everyone! This is my first ever forum post so do hope it lands where it’s meant to 🤣

Most days, I like to find a highlight 😊. Usually, that means during a walk with my dog, I try to spot something different, something cool or something that brings me some happiness. Whether it’s something big or small, it doesn’t matter. A highlight can be anything!

I love taking photos and would really like to share and see what you've come across. Something that made you smile, sparked your interest, or simply caught your eye. For me, it’s all the little things that count on the hard days.

To start, I’d like to share these beautiful birds I came across today. They like to appear like branches of a tree or the tree itself. They are called Tawny Frogmouth’s. Has anyone else seen these types of birds? My pics below -(hopefully not too small to see two in the tree on the left pic).

What have you seen today? ☀️💛🙏

I didn't wait for the sunrise today. The rain came down instead. I thought I'd throw in a photo of a flying cane toad (Ibis) for something different. 😁

@Chasingsunsets My AuDH brain 🧠

decided that Forum threads should have a naming convention.

This thread was your first post. 2nd September 2026 will be the 1st Anniversary of this thread you re-officiate 🙌🏼😀

”For thousands of years, we have crafted vessels to carry messages and we have called them by name. These messages nurture and care for us through perilous seas. Today, we come to name this thread [Insert Thread Name] to be cared for and to care for all who post here.”

Clearly I’ve watched The Expanse too much. I also blame Professors Brian Cox and Neil Degrass Tyson. 😁🤷🏼‍♀️

My highlight of today is receiving my certificate in Business Administration, Records and Information Management.

This is a significant highlight for me as the last time I completed any study was when I was 21.

@heartathome thanks gorgeous, it was a challenge at times, especially considering it had been many many many years since I last studied!

@DownMoreThanUp I am hoping it will give me more options for employment. I am actually quite nervous about looking for work as it has been 2 years since I was employed and that is looked down upon.

@ENKELI I understand your predicament and how challenging this feels.

I don’t know if this helps where you are right now, but I’ve found that keeping the focus away from harsh self-examination and trusting the truth of who we already are can really help in situations like interviews.

Job interviews can be especially difficult for people like us, because they place so much focus on achievements, gaps, abilities, and self-presentation. That can easily trigger self-doubt and a very critical inner voice.

But a gap in employment does not erase your value as a person, nor the strengths and qualities you still carry within you.

I think going into it with as much self-kindness and steadiness as possible matters far more than trying to prove yourself perfect.

i know you also know at heart you are an asset to any one employing you. Please hold on that instead surrender to that 'roving eye' firing insecurities. 🤗

Re: What has been your highlight today, no matter how big or small? Come share 🫶

@DownMoreThanUp thanks for your message. I don't struggle with interviews, never have. It's the whole "what will they think of me" that gets me stressed and I don't value my skills so I tend to not apply for positions I know full well I can do.

My self esteem took a hit a few years back and it's still at an all time low. Being fired from my last job and not given a reason why didn't help.

The logical part of me reminds me that I am being cared for by God but the "me" part tells me I am useless. I just need to let the logical part take the "me" part and remind myself that He has taken care of me this long, this time will be no different.

He is in the waiting.
