@Blackcloud well done on your assessment result!! Well and truly above a pass mark 😁 and those extra marks will absolutely help big extra buffer for if you struggle in the exam.
I hope mulit-choice exam is a bit better than an essay or long answer exam?? At the very least, with a complete guess you still have a 25% chance of getting it right yeah??
My tip for Uni multi-choice is to pay attention to the wording of the question. Always read it twice. 😊 e.g. "best describe" may mean that all the options "describe" it, but which is the BEST (most accurate? Most precise?) of the options?
I loved using practice exams for pre-exam.study too!! I would re-read my notes and do practice exams. I wasn't keen on flash cards or such either.
Now you have that assessments results, are you able to calculate what score you need in the final exam to pass the unit overall? (If you have the info but difficult with math, im happy to help. Just need to know for each assessment/exam the weighting, and what the past ones results were for each. E.g. assessment weighting 30% and score 70%)
Sometimes knowing how low the actual score you need from an exam can be encouraging and relieve the pressure.
Hi @AlwaysMyself again, I definitely did not forget about this post that I was going to answer! 🤗
Yes, I'd say the multiple choice only exam is definitely a lot better than the essay and a long answer exam, and I really hope in this degree that there would be no long answer exams!...🫣 and I like that advice, thank you! I started working on the practice exam the day after I mentioned how stressed I was for the exams and how confident that I was gonna fail it haha, but I feel like now I'm pretty confident that I'll be able to get at least a minimum of 50% in the exam haha. 😅
Yes, I did calculate what score I need to get remaining in order to get at least a pass mark or a credit mark overall in the unit based on my current assignment results in this unit - so if I want to get at least a pass mark then it's fine if I fail the exam, but then I'll need to get at least the 60s in the last assignment (that assignment is due on the 29th September but I've already completed and submitted it this morning) to get a pass. Otherwise if i want to get a credit overall, then I'll have to at least get somewhere in the 50s in the exam, whereas for the last assignment it would be somewhere at least the 50s-60s. That assignment is worth 25% and the exam is worth 40%.
So therefore...
to get a pass overall in the unit, I'll need to get at least a total of 26.4% from both the last assignment and the exam
or
to get a credit overall in the unit, I'll need to get at least a total of 36.4% from both the last assignment and the exam
