What has been your highlight today, no matter how big or small? Come share 🫶

Hi everyone! This is my first ever forum post so do hope it lands where it’s meant to 🤣

Most days, I like to find a highlight 😊. Usually, that means during a walk with my dog, I try to spot something different, something cool or something that brings me some happiness. Whether it’s something big or small, it doesn’t matter. A highlight can be anything!

I love taking photos and would really like to share and see what you've come across. Something that made you smile, sparked your interest, or simply caught your eye. For me, it’s all the little things that count on the hard days.


To start, I’d like to share these beautiful birds I came across today. They like to appear like branches of a tree or the tree itself. They are called Tawny Frogmouth’s. Has anyone else seen these types of birds? My pics below -(hopefully not too small to see two in the tree on the left pic).

Polly is my son's dog @PeppyPatti She is cute and very affectionate. She's nearly ten now. She's on a diet by the vet, hence the carrots. 💚

Dear SANE community,

Today is my birthday. Birthdays have always made me feel a bit sad. Even when I try not to, that feeling of emptiness still catches up with me as I often tend to reflect on what I’ve lost and what I wish I had received in life. But this year, I want to embrace the day differently and focus on how far I’ve come.

This past year has been a huge turning point for me. For the first time in my life, I’ve truly taken steps toward a new direction. It’s been one of the scariest things I have ever done. I’m finally learning to accept myself for who I am, and understanding that the trauma I’ve been through shaped many of my decisions, patterns and behaviours. I’m also beginning to understand my younger self with more compassion. There have been many tough periods but two years ago, I don’t think any of this would have felt possible at all. I wouldn’t have believed I could be this brave. I’m on this long journey now, and I’ve found purpose in holding onto hope, a hope for a better life for myself.

I also want to acknowledge each of you here. Even though we’re all anonymous, you have made a real difference in my life since I joined. Thank you for helping me feel braver, for your kindness, for listening, and for reminding me that I’m not alone. Thank you for showing up, for sharing your stories, and for all the little moments along the way. 💛

My highlight today is simply being able to write this and share it here.🌟

I hope to carry this courage and strength with me into the year ahead.

Please have some cake on me 🎂 🎉 Thanks everyone.

Today we celebrate your day of birth,
but also who you’ve fought to become.
The past may have shaped some chapters,
however it cannot define your end result,
although it also left its scars on you.
Today here’s to freedom, healing,
and a future written with steadier hands.
