What has been your highlight today, no matter how big or small? Come share 🫶

Hi everyone! This is my first ever forum post so do hope it lands where it’s meant to 🤣

Most days, I like to find a highlight 😊. Usually, that means during a walk with my dog, I try to spot something different, something cool or something that brings me some happiness. Whether it’s something big or small, it doesn’t matter. A highlight can be anything!

I love taking photos and would really like to share and see what you've come across. Something that made you smile, sparked your interest, or simply caught your eye. For me, it’s all the little things that count on the hard days.

To start, I’d like to share these beautiful birds I came across today. They like to appear like branches of a tree or the tree itself. They are called Tawny Frogmouth’s. Has anyone else seen these types of birds? My pics below -(hopefully not too small to see two in the tree on the left pic).

What have you seen today? ☀️💛🙏

@PeppyPatti You wouldn't believe it, the exact same thing happened to my other sister last night as well. Except she couldn't smell the gas, it was her granddaughter's boyfriend who smelt the gas and turned it off and aired her house out. Lucky, they popped in to pick some stuff up.

I am still trying to wrap around my head around how the exact same thing happened at both houses. My sister reckons someone is trying to take our family out. I assume she was joking.

Let’s think she has brilliant powers of love and that gas thing was about ‘ it couldn’t have happened in a cleverer time ‘

I've been smelling gas here lately @Mustang67 @PeppyPatti worked out cos only the 1 cylinder connected. diaphragm switch thing in middle old and worn. took me days to realise was cos only one cylinder. normally if regulator or whatever its called leaks a bit , just goes in emply side and dont smell it.

so I asked google/AI

will faulty changeover valve cause gas smell if only the one cylinder connected

Overview
Yes, a faulty changeover valve can absolutely cause a gas smell even if only one cylinder is connected. A faulty regulator or valve can leak gas at the connection points, from the diaphragm, or back through the vent if it is damaged, creating a potential hazard.

Here is how a faulty changeover valve causes a smell with one cylinder:
Internal Leakage/Diaphragm Failure: If the regulator's internal diaphragm or spring is damaged, it can leak gas directly into the atmosphere, often producing a "rotten egg" smell near the regulator or cylinder.
Leakage from the Unused Side: If the pigtail for the unconnected cylinder is not properly capped, a faulty changeover valve might vent gas from that open side, rather than sealing it off properly.
Loose or Perished Connections: Over time, the seals, O-rings, or connections on the input side (even the unused side) can break down, allowing gas to escape from the manifold, especially if the unit is older.
Failed Non-Return Valves (NRV): Many changeover valves rely on non-return valves in the pigtails to prevent gas from escaping from the unused side. If these fail, gas can travel down the empty hose and leak out.
Important Safety Note: If you smell gas, you should immediately shut off the cylinder valve, extinguish all open flames, and check for leaks using soapy wate

@TAB What is going on with all this gas stuff. I was smelling gas in the caravan last week, and someone had switched the changeover valve to the side where there was no cylinder. So, F&$K knows who did that.

My mum does not live in a good neighbourhood. Just two nights ago my partner was having a shower inside and he looked out the window, and he could see someone hiding in the bushes in the back yard. He yelled out that if he was still out there when he came out there would be hell to pay, then the person ran to the back of the yard and jumped the fence.

We did have the extension cord for the caravan going into the laundry using the back door, but this meant that we couldn't shut or lock the back door. After that happened, my partner has fed the extension cord through the laundry window, so the back door can now be locked at nighttime. So, if people are jumping our back fence, it could have been one of these people that was playing with the gas cylinder on the caravan.

When I changed my address on my car insurance, the premium went up by $30 extra a month, so that shows for sure we are not in a nice neighbourhood.

Well, I am off to try and get some sleep. So as my mum and sister say Toodle Pip.

Hey guys,

My highlight today is that I had a pyjama day. Got absolutely nothing done. Might need to get up and change that. Place is a mess and daughter will be home in 2 1/2 weeks. Need to get motivated
