What has been your highlight today, no matter how big or small? Come share 🫶

Hi everyone! This is my first ever forum post so do hope it lands where it’s meant to 🤣

Most days, I like to find a highlight 😊. Usually, that means during a walk with my dog, I try to spot something different, something cool or something that brings me some happiness. Whether it’s something big or small, it doesn’t matter. A highlight can be anything!

I love taking photos and would really like to share and see what you've come across. Something that made you smile, sparked your interest, or simply caught your eye. For me, it’s all the little things that count on the hard days.

To start, I’d like to share these beautiful birds I came across today. They like to appear like branches of a tree or the tree itself. They are called Tawny Frogmouth’s. Has anyone else seen these types of birds? My pics below -(hopefully not too small to see two in the tree on the left pic).

Oh @AlwaysMyself I spent years not achieving NY thing, I cared for my son with cancer 15 years and he recovered and married with a schizophrenic I'm his unpaid carer_ I am guessing I married him because my youngest son got better and I'm still was in carers mode, they were when I did no giving to the world,,,, no creativity or only bits abs pieces, I crocheted one bag when I was married for 10 years,,,,,,, lol

@Flutterbug9 oh that's funny! I am a grammar perfectionist but I really love twisting words and making silly expressions.

My ex used to say ironical instead of ironic and even though we split over 15 years ago (my goodness, I just realised how long it's been!) my brother and I still deliberately say ironical. Or as bro would say, he likes to wist turds (twist words)!

Glad to hear it went well and was what you wanted

I don't really have much of a highlight of today... it was a physically challenging day for my foot.

But a home cooked meal was nice

@PeppyPatti Ahh, right. Not achieving anything for yourself. I would say "helping others" (e.g. son or husband) is doing/achieving something; but I guess it depends on what someone feels is meaningful to them at that time - and if it is in line with what they want to be able to do. 🙂
I don't have any plan for "achieving" this year beyond "trying a new treatment option", and living true to myself I guess. But something this can also be a good thing - because needing to "achieve" has been detrimental over time for me.

My highlight today hasn’t happened yet. It is the arrival of my new Hisense 155L vertical freezer. We had a huge chest freezer for 30 years but decided yesterday after defrosting it to replace it. This freezer will be so much easier to use as it has drawers so nothing will get lost down the bottom.

Also another thing, I saw my psychologist today and she took me into her other office to show me where she had hung my painting. She and her coworker are really happy with it so that makes me happy. We also shared dark chocolate coated lolly raspberries.

My freezer just arrived and we have unpacked it. Just need to let the gases settle before turning it on
