@heartathome That is nice that you did some painting. 😊 I don't do normal or as I might call it "real" painting - but I do paint-by-numbers and also like to paint 3D figures (plaster, or could be plastic mini figures if I have any from a boardgame; I think I need a friend who does mini/warhammer games, so I can paint theirs lol).

My grandma was a very good oil painter, and did it as a hobby. She used to sell some at markets with a few other friends who painted too, but as you mention it is very hard to sell them and also hard to cover the costs even I think. Although for my grandma she hasn't really done any painting selling/markets for probably 20 years I think now.

The children are mid-late primary school aged. 😊 Even easier today - it was just the one of them; the other one must have been at a daycare program today. We had a good time searching through 2 tubs of lego for the specific parts needed for the lego based on the instruction booklet. I also learned about a number of other lego sets they have mixed into it when I came across unusual or interesting items & was told what they were from. 😊

I think it was a success - the daughter asked if I can come over again! Always a good sign eh! And 0 meltdowns which is super good, even though I would also be OK to sit with her if she had a meltdown too.

I've never tried paint by numbers @AlwaysMyself My hands shake a bit from anxiety so I don't think I'd be able to stay in the lines. I remember my son painting miniature figures made of metal. I'm not sure if they were from the Warhammer game.

That's great that your grandma used to paint and sell them at the markets! I agree with you that I think it is very hard to cover the costs and the time put into a piece of art. I really enjoyed doing some watercolour painting for the last year but now am looking for the next thing to do.

I think Lego's should be a staple in every home (with kids) 😃 They can help the kids be very creative! I have been buying Duplo for a child for the last couple of years who just turned five. She loves Bluey, or she did last month! Soon enough she'll be on Lego's if I have my way. I don't know if her mother will agree because of all the tiny pieces. She still enjoys playing with the Duplo, especially if I play with her. She's an active child who I find hard to keep up with, so Duplo is a good down time for her and me!
