Morning everyone! I hope it’s been a good start to your Saturday. I started my day with a bit of a sleep-in, which has been really nice!

I have a heartfelt highlight to share from yesterday 😊.
I’m on holidays at the moment, and this time around I’ve really noticed a difference in my connection to my new environment. Where were all the animals?

Yesterday, I went for a walk in a park with a family member dear to me who struggles a lot with staying grounded and finding a sense of calm in their body. It wasn’t a rushed walk, but one focused on what can we see? It was actually a bit harder to spot the birds, so we had to rely on listening for them first and then finding them. In our short 30-minute walk, we managed to see about six different species of birds. We took time to simply watch them as they went about their afternoon.

Towards the end of our walk I definitely felt more connected to my environment, and I noticed a sense of calm in my family member too. It was amazing to see how much a short walk could help. If you’d told me I’d see six different species of birds over my entire holiday, I’m not sure I’d have believed you- let alone in one day!

In a world that can feel so busy, where schedules take over and stressful months pass us by, it was a really lovely reminder not to forget to notice the beautiful things around us, and how something so simple can help ground us ☀️

Thats beautiful, I know its cliche but nature can be so healing @Chasingsunsets I'm a bit of a tree hugger myself. 10 minutes after hugging a tree I feel grounded and free of any fears. Tree hugging is great if you want to stabilise your energy system. The effects are noticeable. Anyway todays highlight was finding a food co-op so I dont have to do business with the big players like Woolworths. I'm worried about food shortage this year and not relying on the centralised food supply. In other countries they are putting food behind glass so you need ID to get food, plus blocking you from getting in and out with special security turnstiles so its only a matter of time it gets here. They are also beefing up security in supermarkets with armed guards as we allready know. I'm going food co-op now as I dont want big brother knowing what where and when I buy

@Chasingsunsets that sounds beautiful! I love to get outside into nature as well, I feel that there is something very tranquil and calming about getting outside of built up areas and breathing fresh oxygen! Definitely helps us find our sense of inner peace.

I am glad you enjoyed your walk alongside your family members. It sounds truly wonderful.

My moment of happiness today has been spending time being a tourist in my own city, we are showing our close friends parents, also feeling like our auntie and uncle, around the city as they have come to visit from overseas. We've seen lots of iconic places and now sitting down at a tea house which is exciting

on the 1st day of the year,

we had a storm here with lightning and thunder and lots of rain and no power for a couple of hours

so we were able to try out the gas stove, and we cooked our dinner on it before the power came back on
