What has been your highlight today, no matter how big or small? Come share 🫶

Hi everyone! This is my first ever forum post so do hope it lands where it’s meant to 🤣

Most days, I like to find a highlight 😊. Usually, that means during a walk with my dog, I try to spot something different, something cool or something that brings me some happiness. Whether it’s something big or small, it doesn’t matter. A highlight can be anything!

I love taking photos and would really like to share and see what you've come across. Something that made you smile, sparked your interest, or simply caught your eye. For me, it’s all the little things that count on the hard days.

To start, I’d like to share these beautiful birds I came across today. They like to appear like branches of a tree or the tree itself. They are called Tawny Frogmouth’s. Has anyone else seen these types of birds? My pics below -(hopefully not too small to see two in the tree on the left pic).

What have you seen today? ☀️💛🙏

@Appleblossom i fully agree. i love the geese above our other domesticated birds.

Geese are elegant, not quite as stately as swans, but they still have a kind of majestic look when they swim on the water. Geese are nowhere near as destructive as ducks, Guiana fowl, or chicken for that matter, as they graze like cattle, and do not dig up plants/grass like the others do.

Geese are also far more intelligent than the other birds, and can become a pet when we endear them to us.

@DownMoreThanUp those photos and clips are amazing.

Sounds like life is getting back on track for you, so good to hear that.

Also, I keep meaning to thank you for sharing your Megan Woods music. I've been listening to a lot of her music of late 🎶

Take care 🙂

Nice photos @DownMoreThanUp . Don’t fancy tiger snake! I have Eastern brown snakes and black snakes. Creek down over the back of my place so maybe tiger snakes too. Creek only runs when we have heavy rain. Neighbour pumps water out of it.
Slept for 4 hours only - meds wear off and I have to go to loo. Couldn’t go back to sleep. Gut upset. Going to toilet a lot.

Puss nice and warm on my lap.

@ENKELI Yes i love her voice, and her much more meaningful songs than is common. Such is so often missing in today's contemporary Gospel pick.

i love this one, such true words, and a little bit more humph to sing along with!😁

@GezzaP i understand you are not keen on snakes, we do not like them inside our house, or too close by, but living in the midst of a swamp has much wild life around. We know these snakes are essential for a healthy eco system and we love nature around us.

Having lived here for near 30 years has us lost of phobia's about snakes. Sure we still have a healthy respect for them, especially this time of the year, when they are very active in warm weather catching up on months of slumbering somewhere safe, and their poison sacks are fullest. Yet nature would not be as awesome without them.

This 2m beauty lived behind the chicken pen for many years, without causing any issues.

@DownMoreThanUp now THAT is the highlight of my day!

So true about contemporary Christian music. If a lot of it was on mainstream radio you wouldn't know it was Christian.

I hope Monday was kind to you and that your week gets better each day ❤️ 🙏

I’m not scared of snakes. @DownMoreThanUp . Just cautious. They eat the mice and rats. Worry my cat might get bitten but so far so good. Need to go nap here if I can. Got hungry and ate,

@ENKELI This is what i love about knowing Family like you on SANE. For you also testify of the love of Jesus suffering life down here.

The words of this song of Megan sums up how Jesus saved me from the darkness that had me down deep for so long. For Jesus brought me my lost good life back again even though my suffering has not stopped. The Word God Alive within is mint.

(Sorry the support button is dead again.)

It is the love of Jesus growing in my heart which brings me the love, faith, and hope, to face each day's challenges again.

@GezzaP Yes we do worry abut our pets, for we had one of our dogs bitten. Around this time of the year, although 29 years ago. We had only just moved here, and our daughter got a Saint Bernard given to her for the owner did not have enough room for him. This dog hated snakes and would sniff them out, for we did not have a fence around the house yet.

One day i saw him come towards me looking rather unwell before he collapsed on the veranda. After examine him we rang the vet and told him his symptoms. The vet told us it sounded like a snake bite and that it would cost us 900 dollars to give him an anti venom shot. We had only just moved, so 900 dollars we did not have, plus the vet told us there were no guarantees seeing the state the dog was already in.

So we decided to pray for him. Which we promptly did. However when we finished our prayer our dog looked as good as dead and the kids began crying thinking he was surely going to die. However i prayed on, and to our amazement he got up about a hour after we prayed for him, and healed completely in the weeks that followed.

We found the dead snake close to the kids cubby. The biggest tiger snake we ever seen, bitten in three.

Our beautiful Saint Barnard

@DownMoreThanUp ironically my support button is now working.

I have found myself feeling a lot lighter after the weekend, and to keep it on topic, my highlight yesterday was severing ties with a very negative non Christian friend who brought out the worst in me no matter how hard I tried and pray led for her.

At first I thought God had put her in my life to act as shepherd for the lost sheep. Unfortunately she was not interested and would shut me down when I tried to talk to her about God.

I will continue to pray for her and hope one day she sees the light.

I hope you are doing well. I'm not a fan of kids singing but the enthusiasm of the girls in that song clip made up for it.
