How many real life friends do you have?

How many real life friends do you have?

I have two close friends who I speak to several times a week, and a handful of acquaintances and other friendly faces. I like my two friends a lot, and I wish we lived together. I want to have a partner but i am asexual, and I would like to have MORE friends. Once upon a life I was so filled with shame and self loathing I would not let people close, but now I have come to grips with my life story I love having friends close to me and we talk about very simple and boring things like buses, the local shops and OTHER PEOPLE in our community. But, we try to be kind to and help other people we do not bash, criticise or gossip about them.

Don't take that for granted. Having good friends you genuinely love and want to be around is rare.

I dont have anyone I feel close to on that level. Have been trying to make new connections and nurturing/ rekindling some existing ones, but its hard.

Hi @Sugarshack

The only friend I have is my Husband.

I have no one else. No one I talk to or catch up with or anything like that. The only other 'people' I associate with it my husbands friends.

I'm glad you have some friends. It's good knowing that there are people out there that care about you.

@Sugarshack

I have two real life friends and a bunch of classmates and acquaintances. My best friend I try to talk to or see at least once a week but my other friend I only catch up with very occasionally. She is a teacher and has a young family so she is busy and doesn't think about me that often. I guess I could develop more friendships from my classmates and acquaintances but I just don't put my energy there. It takes energy to develop friendships and time as well.

Thankyou everyone for your responses, I appreciate and value my friends more knowing that they are fairly hard to come by.
