Friday Coffee and Chat -- 29th August 2025

Something positive from this week was catching up with a friend mid-week. I don't do this enough and it was really nice!

Something I have planned for the weekend is seeing my partner's parents after they've had a big trip around Europe for the past 10 weeks (can't wait to hear all about it!) and we'll be going to watch a local soccer match with my brother and his partner. I haven't gone to watch sports in ages but it's fun to get out and be in that atmosphere, I think it'll be a good time!

Hi @Shaz51. Thanks for the tag! Your orchid is gorgeous- I love the colour!

A positive thing for me has been getting through a very rough and traumatic respite break away in country Victoria that was very remote and having to survive on my own for 3 nights. That included having a tree fall down across the road where the respite cottage was the on the second night I was there and blocking the road for a few hours until a local came across it and cut it up for firewood. The weather was very windy and I had several nights of not much sleep. I’m so glad I had a large diamond art picture to do along with having wool to knit a baby blanket for charity and my cross stitch kit as I also had no tv coverage and very limited internet connection. I was very glad to be home safe yesterday afternoon once my peer worker picked me up!

As for the weekend, it’s a crafty weekend planned during the day- cross stitch, diamond art, knitting and crochet - along with watching some sport - NRL, US Tennis Open, maybe some horse racing- and watching The Block on Sunday night. I’m also planning on being on the forums a bit this weekend.
