The recent medication changes has calmed my brain down. I’m still feeling caged up, I know my psych is looking at more frequent therapy sessions if we can get more under ED plan. Once a month sessions aren’t enough. It just feels like the traumatic memories aren’t ending, I’ve been in therapy for years. It’s taking so long to heal. I just want to get to the point the body flashbacks aren’t so regular
I got around 6 hours so not too bad. Would have preferred 7-9. Maybe tonight.
Went to Chinese acupuncture this morning was quite pleasant. Planted a few cuttings.
Made a decision to get solar battery.
Got some more seeds in post this morning. Will sow over next week or so.

Re: Feeling caged up
@AuntGlow brains naturally have negative bias. I know a call goes well when the help-seeker says they feel better after taking the call. I've had multiple calls. I didn't do much, I just listened to them, asked curious questions and used counselling micro-skills.
It's hard when I can't hear someone well, it also leaves room for misunderstanding. I think it's probably a common thing to not connect well with certain help-seekers, probably just a natural human thing.
I'm doing better, it's hard still. It's hard to change ED behaviours. I had the appointment with the dietician today, it's a big step. Still trying to figure out how far I am willing to go in therapy. It's lonely not being able to discuss flashbacks, but then I am too scared of opening too much.
@GezzaP it sounds like sleep has gotten a bit better, sometimes it does take a while till hypomanic symptoms settle, so hopefully it starts looking up for you. What are you going to plant?

Re: Feeling caged up
I didn’t plant anything today. Did a tiny bit of weeding. Got veggie seeds - lettuce, silverbeet, capsicum, mustard and a couple of other veggies can’t remember what ha ha. @creative_writer . Yes started sleeping better hopefully this continues.

Re: Feeling caged up
@GezzaP it sounds amazing. Gardening can be soothing. My dad has grown herbs, nothing beats growing your own food.
Mania can make sleep pretty bad, I don’t know if you’ve ever gone without sleep, it’s wild. I’ve also had those 2 hour sleeps. Let’s hope you get more tonight.
I’m going to listen to music, I want to feel validated. I turn to music a lot to feel validated. It feels easier than talking about it, I don’t even have words

Re: Feeling caged up
@creative_writer I love gardening in Spring and Autumn. The weather is perfect.
I have had nights without any sleep. They really suck.
Hope you can chill out listening to music. I’m watching TV. Need to do exercises this evening.

Re: Feeling caged up
@GezzaP I’ve never been a gardener but I know a lot of people find it relaxing. Not sure if my allergies would hold up. It’s peak pollen season in Melbourne. Melbourne is awful for allergies. But it is amazing that you grow your own food.
Lack of sleep can have an energising effect. I’ve had episodes where I felt amazing and on top of the world, but that doesn’t happen anymore. I get the mixed episodes now. Sort of miss those episodes, though in hindsight, I was impulsive and annoying during those periods.
I’m in a lot of emotional pain, just not sure what to do with it. I don’t feel like there is much I can do or say. Not sure if the music helps or makes it worse or both, I just feel lonely in my own battles

I am here with you @creative_writer
i find gardening relaxing and the exercise is good for me. Can only do a couple of hours atm because my back complains then I need a break. Will do weeding over weekend if my gardener doesn’t do it all tomorrow when he comes. Then I’ll sow seeds.

Re: Feeling caged up
@GezzaP thank you. I’m trying to not think, but it isn’t working. The more I think, the worse the physical discomfort gets.
I think it’s good to have insights on limitations. It’s wise to take it easy.
