Feeling caged up

Feeling caged up

The recent medication changes has calmed my brain down. I’m still feeling caged up, I know my psych is looking at more frequent therapy sessions if we can get more under ED plan. Once a month sessions aren’t enough. It just feels like the traumatic memories aren’t ending, I’ve been in therapy for years. It’s taking so long to heal. I just want to get to the point the body flashbacks aren’t so regular

Re: Feeling caged up

I slept better @creative_writer felt ok this morning went for a short walk. This afternoon my back, neck and head hurt. Painkillers ineffective. Feeling very thirsty. Planted a geranium cutting this morning and put indoor pots outside to catch forecast rain. How are you today?

@GezzaP didn’t get to eat all my dinner, but won’t have it anyways.

I had french fries for dinner. I make them at home sometimes. Was going to have chicken as well but wasn’t hungry enough.

Re: Feeling caged up

It's so normal to not always have the words in therapy. 💖

I wonder if you could explore tapping into sensations you're experiencing or even giving your feelings a sound/movement? Perhaps starting with simple reflections in this way could help you find your words? @creative_writer

It sounds to me like the theme of finding safety in your body is really prominent right now. I wonder if there are small ways you can try this that don't flood your nervous system too much?

Hey @GezzaP!

How are your body and mind feeling today? 💛

Re: Feeling caged up

My mind is ok. My body is sore. Back, neck and head hurt. Have been sleepy today. Slept better last night and have dozed a few times today. @AuntGlow

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP I hope you enjoyed your dinner. Part of my chicken was cold but I had to eat fast because of time pressure from my mum nagging me. I ate desert when I got back, was too late to finish dinner.

@AuntGlow I find it super hard to sit within my body but I know I need to. I was talking about Art Therapy with Jynx the other day, my brain works on creativity, not as much on talking plainly. Talk therapy can feel exposing and at times shallow. I know butterfly hugs can help, and breathing.

@creative_writer Dinner was ok.

I woke up early again today. Tidied up lounge and dining room ready for cleaner to come tomorrow. Having a spring clean done on Friday.
Will go for a short walk when it’s light. Done my back exercises.

Thinking of trimming my hair today.

Getting quotes for some more roller shutters and a solar battery on Wednesday.

Did a bit of gardening yesterday.

Speaking to psychiatrist tomorrow (will ask her for a mental health care plan). Speaking to psychologist on Thursday.

Hope you slept ok and have a good day.

@GezzaP I hope the appointment goes well. Sometimes GPs need a nudge to get the support we need, can be super helpful when specialist are also able to advocate for us.

I hope you’ve had better day today 💖
