The recent medication changes has calmed my brain down. I’m still feeling caged up, I know my psych is looking at more frequent therapy sessions if we can get more under ED plan. Once a month sessions aren’t enough. It just feels like the traumatic memories aren’t ending, I’ve been in therapy for years. It’s taking so long to heal. I just want to get to the point the body flashbacks aren’t so regular
@GezzaP telephone appointment is a start. I’ve made an appointment, it’s telephone. Maybe I will make a face to face appointment the following week. I’ll let him know next week about the ED plan, so he is prepared for it when I do go in person.
I hope the need cat food helps.
@AuntGlow I ended up retraumatised and pathologised. What I got from the conversation was 1. I was stuck because I processed the events to be worse. 2. I should know what is overreacting and what isn’t. Like is there a social norm I’m missing here? 3. If it’s affecting every aspect of your life then there is a problem. So is that supposed to mean if you have ptsd you’re responding too much? I’ve had other conversations that didn’t hit me okay, like i should think about consequences of how suicide will affect others (when I was suicidal) and how you can’t have a healthy romantic relationship without intimacy being the core. I can’t exactly jump into a romantic relationship and be physical immediately with my history. I would need to learn to feel comfortable and safe to let someone that close.
I’ve just had something to eat. I’m going to do a head massage, music and prayers

@creative_writer@AuntGlow My cat ate all the new cat food so that’s great. Glad to hear you made phone appointment. I have to do that in a morning when I’m less tired.
Your therapist you had sounds like my sister who blames me for my mental illness and says having suicidal thoughts is selfish.
I’m getting tired. Have been sleeping heaps.

Re: Feeling caged up
@GezzaP it’s reassuring the cat ate all the food. Make the appointment when you feel ready.
It’s not really my role to regulate the therapist’s feelings. She didn’t say it was selfish, but she spoke about how suicide doesn’t change the lives of individuals in the person’s life, but also therapist’s.
Maybe an early night might help with the sleepiness?

@creative_writer I have gone to bed. Exchanging texts with a friend. I won’t go to sleep straight away. Had a couple of smokes in the early evening then put them away so I can try not to smoke tomorrow morning. Oh right I misunderstood what your therapist had said.

Re: Feeling caged up
@GezzaP I hope texting your friend helped you feel less isolated.
It does still seem like the therapist thought suicide was selfish, she just didn’t say it directly. Sometimes other factors like upbringing and culture can influence other people’s beliefs.

@GezzaP talking to friends can help lift the mood. Are you able to tell to them about what been going on for you?

Re: Feeling caged up
@creative_writer I’m ok I guess. Didn’t make it as far as the shower today. Was miserable when I first woke up. Did smoke less though so that’s good. Hoping I can stay awake to watch AFL final tonight, but might end up going to bed at half time. Got script for changed meds from psychiatrist so will try to drag myself into shower and go to chemist tomorrow. Didn’t manage to call GP oh well try again Monday. Still smoking less today.
Gave cat her old food this morning she ate half of it. Will give her the new food tonight.
