Feeling caged up

Feeling caged up

The recent medication changes has calmed my brain down. I’m still feeling caged up, I know my psych is looking at more frequent therapy sessions if we can get more under ED plan. Once a month sessions aren’t enough. It just feels like the traumatic memories aren’t ending, I’ve been in therapy for years. It’s taking so long to heal. I just want to get to the point the body flashbacks aren’t so regular

Re: Feeling caged up

@rav3n I am getting in my bed. It’s cold here and I can’t afford to put on the heater. Took my changed med and hoping it won’t upset my sleep. I didn’t contact my sister today she sent me a horrible message.

@creative_writer Not doing much better but only had one smoke in the last two hours so that’s something. How are you?

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP sorry to hear you’re not doing much better. Only having two smokes is still an achievement if you’re used to more.

I’ve just reached out to a helpline to talk about past trauma. Body flashbacks are hard. The recent bereavement has made things harder. I wanted to let my eating disorder drag me further into the pit when I found out about my grandma. I feel like I’ve got so much to unpack during my next psych appointment. The appointment is a while away, in 4 weeks. I’ll see my psychiatrist in 3 weeks to touch base on medication. Hopefully I’ll be able to have more regular psych appointment once I’ve been moved to Eating Disorder Plan. It’s been every four week currently. Psych sessions are super expensive if Medicare doesn’t cover anything, I still have a gap fee. My private health is too low to cover the costs. I can’t do much with 10 sessions per year

@creative_writer Glad you are able to see a psychologist. I have tried to get in to see one but couldn’t find one. I have private cover even though I can’t really afford it. Yes I have been smoking less. Managed to walk up to the letter box which was empty meaning no bills.

I paid off a huge debt that I incurred when I was last manic so stupid. So glad it is paid off. It is sunny here but cold. Guess I should go outside. Turned heater on for a little while but thinking I’ll turn it off now.

Re: Feeling caged up

@GezzaP finding a psych is tricky. I know a lot of psychs do telehealth after COVID, that's always an option if you feel like distance is an issue. My psych isn't close to where I live, so I mostly have done telehealth. I've seen her in person before, but I typically don't go in person.

Mania can definitely cause impulsive spending, it feels so good at the time, but the regret eventually sinks it. It's sunny here too but cold, I am thinking of going for a walk later in the afternoon, I feel like I need to get some movement.
