Re: Hi

I also think about my mum… and if she had the right supports around her what kind of life she could of had and I’m talking as an adult she slipped through many cracks and I guess cause of that so did we? and then she just kept falling 😞

Re: Hi

And we also have to remember that things have changed significantly compared to when your mum was young. There was so little awareness of what we know now in terms of the pain and suffering caused on Aboriginal people. @ArraDreaming

You have fought hard to get to where you are now. Others may also have the opportunities that you have, but your resilience and hard core perseverance has made all the difference.

And yes, in the future, you can create something that works for you - a safe space for Indigenous people in a way in a capacity that matches your strengths e.g. camping, gardening, surfing, biking..

The world is out there for whenever you are ready.

Re: Hi

It's the connection to community @ArraDreaming It's in the blood. That's what it means to be Aboriginal. It's connection to land, water, people...

It sounds like she was lost in this world...

I'm so glad you have more supports than what she had, because I can see how much it is needed. Then there's your sister to consider too. I know how much she looks up to you. She's still learning.

Re: Hi

💜 I see so much of Mum in her, to look at too @tyme
She does need help and i know her well enough to see when she needs me more then other times

She has a good relationship with Mrs AD too, probably not two people that would connect if it wasnt because of family but I know they talk.. about what idk, idk what girls talk about lol home decor?
but I hope we are both a good support to her she asked us the other day to take my nephew for the night in a few weeks time and we said yes because I can see how hard she is putting in the work and it’s for a genuine reason not just so she can go off and be silly, so that will be 5 kids under our roof that night…
She really is trying she wants to get a job too apparently
