My pension is more than the dole. The dole is too low. @TAB I can’t survive on the dole. I wouldn’t be able to pay my bills and I would be drawing too much super down.
I want my super Accumulation Component which still earns money for home maintenance and travel. I don’t want to draw too much for ordinary living expenses. Although occasionally I have to draw on it to pay big bills. It would be a waste of my super to use it for ordinary living expenses. I also wouldn’t be able to pay my gardener/cleaner/handyman if I was on the dole. The concessions on the dole are not enough for me to live.
I told you already that I cannot simply get off pension - it’s not allowed and I’m not allowed to work anymore. Centrelink would hassle me to apply for work which I’m not allowed to do.
I have to investigate whether I can draw a slightly smaller pension so I can get low income health card and get concessions. I don’t believe I can do this, but I can ask super fund, but I might struggle to survive and I’ve had too many years of being broke as a student to go through that again. Most fortnights I’m ok it’s only difficult when I have lots of bills.
In addition I also find dealing with Centrelink (I call it Centrestink) highly stressful and I would have to apply for a disability pension as I can’t look for work as I’m not allowed to work anymore as I don’t pay tax anymore as I’m over 60 and am permanently retired. Pretty certain not eligible for disability pension.
Also the application form is daunting (so long and complex). and I would have to get my GP or my psychiatrist or my psychologist and maybe chiro/ physio to agree to support me. I have bipolar and my back is stuffed. Then I have to get enough points to qualify. It is very hard to qualify these days. It freaks me out.
I know I will find it difficult to apply for a part pension when I turn 67 in about 4 years time. I have terrible trouble uploading documents and my scanner doesn’t work anymore. I can do form online but a paper form would be easier for me and of course there’ll be supporting documents as proof of age etc. i might have to take myself into Centrestink to put in that application, but have a few years before have to deal with that. I’m turning 63 at the end of this month. I believe at 65 I can get a Commonwealth Seniors Card but not sure. I need to investigate.
I have an SA seniors card. That gives me free public transport and a discount at supermarket and sometimes other concessions at activities/exhibitions etcetera. Wish I could get concession on meds. that would be a big help.
Sorry for rant. Good morning to you anyways. Hope you have a good day.

Good morning again @TAB . Oh puss has been fussing that’s a pity. Hope you still
got some sleep.
I slept badly last night. Self inflicted as stayed up later and disrupted my sleep pattern. Oh well. Will try to snooze later if painter doesn’t come back this afternoon.
About to do my Spanish lessons. After that I’ll do my physio exercises and chair yoga. Then I’ll have breakfast and jump in the shower if I can be bothered - might just have a wash instead, but want to go up the local shop, so should probably shower.
It’s going to be 25 degrees here in Adelaide today with a chance of a storm. Also some showers maybe, but not sure when. Will
put indoor plants outside in case painter comes back today. Hoping painter can come today so I have Monday to myself.
Good morning @MissGremlin @Bunniekins @Glisten @PeppyPatti
