Yes @rav3n it can get a bit like that with routines and activity throughout the changing seasons. I've had to learn to just hop back onboard without judging myself. Generally speaking, sometimes we set too high standards for ourselves given the realistic nature of what goes on in our day to day lives. I did see a course on negative self talk many years ago I listened to a free promo presentation. The gift I walked away with was I became more self tolerant with my human capacities and less inflexible with my routines. My life became easier overnight. I had no idea how much my subconscious was dictating how I ran my life and all the emotional energy being used up just trying to live up to some self made ideal of what I should be doing! Anyway its great you are getting back into exercise again. We shall both prosper from that investment in our physical health.

so so true @SmilingGecko!! i was talking to my psych about this recently too, and i realised a lot of the time i couldn't meet my goal (i.e. going gym), i'd just completely give up and be annoyed with myself rather than being flexible and maybe going for a walk instead or doing stretches at home. i've got a 'all or nothing' type of mentality that i gotta work on bending around. it's so good that you've worked around it. i reckon september is our month, we're going to continue being better versions of ourselves, we got this!! 💙

@rav3n I came across the Japanese philosophy of Kaizen in the last few months. Its used in psychology as well as big industries. Its enabled me to tackle tasks easily no matter how big. They say according to the philosophy setting a huge goal overwhelms the area of the brain to do with fear of not being able to complete the task so you give up early or never end up doing it . Using Kaizen has enabled me to tackle goals such as housekeeping ie clearing out big storage areas and creating order in my house that seems to swallow things up!!! The book is really uplifting and inspirational. I was not in the market to buy a book but was able to listen to a talking book for free off you tube on Kaizen. It totally changed my life and enabled me to be more methodical and effective. Its a beautiful book. I could not get NDIS in years gone by but Kaizen has certainly made a difference around the house. Things I thought were too overwhelming were made easy and I accomplished more with the Kaizen method than other ways I tried in the past.
