@MissGremlin dental should be covered by Medicare, seriously. It is so important to have healthy teeth and yet there is no real assistance.
I thought the National Dental Plan might be a help but it turns out they use Zip or Humm so it's not really a viable option.
I am going to do some research on funding for dental work, which state are you in? If there are any good options I'll let you know xo

@ENKELI good point re throwing out food needlessly. i dont have morning teas for ladies lol is a bygone thing i think or maybe i am just unsociable. i dont buy the carbs in the first place i mean i love croissants but the fat and sugar content must be huge.

@Bunniekins no, I don't do afternoon tea like my mum used to. Like you I must be unsociable too!
I am pleased with myself, I went into the low cost supermarket where my bro works and while I glanced at the free icing laden apple and custard scrolls (which I LOVE!) I didn't bring any home. I am trying to find alternatives to things like that to stop my sugar cravings but I am not sure what is healthy and what is not. Quite often I will have porridge with honey but it's getting too warm for that.

@ENKELI it should be but yet it's not. Yes it's important cos not having healthy teeth can affect other areas of our health also.
I'm in South Australia, I've been trying to get through to the salvation army but haven't been successful yet. When I rang the dentist that's the only service they said might be able to help.

@TAB once they put Prof in front of their name I swear the price goes up a couple of grand. I'd be the same as you, let it fall out.
I wanted to have all my teeth pulled and just have dentures but my dentist doesn't want to pull my teeth out. He reckons that dentures are the last choice and that lower dentures don't adhere as well as upper. My aunt called BS on that as she's had a lower denture for as long as I can remember and she has no problem at all.
I have a high plaque build up but my dentist didn't believe me - I once had a dentist have a go at me for not brushing my teeth as a kid but my mum told him that she had watched me brush my teeth 15 minutes before. The dentist then admitted that I had high plaque build up but this new bloke doesn't believe me. I don't think he believes me that I have dry mouth too and even asked which medication caused it. Like I am paying you to fix my teeth, not judge me on something I can't control.

@MissGremlin I don't know if this would help but there is the NILs option. I wasn't sure if it was available in SA but it is -
Of course if you don't have the money to pay the loan back it doesn't help does it!
I hope you're able to get assistance. When I win lotto I shall share it with you. I plan on winning A LOT so I can give some to all of my Sane family that need it 😁
