Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

Thats right @Bunniekins I don't know where youre moving to but having something in place for summer is a good idea 👍

@StuF In Europe a few years ago they had massive blackouts. People were freezing to death in their homes - literally. Some unable to get food were reported eating dog food out of a tin being heated by a candle. Floods in The Carolinas (USA) this year got no emergency water sent in by FEMA. People thirsty with nothing to drink, trapped in their homes dying of thirst. Got this from citizen journalism not CNN.

@TAB I checked out kmart and you should read the reviews for these amazing lanterns that put out lots of light. I will buy a few tomorrow not even Anaconda had them as good as these! Thank-you

Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

@Bunniekins I don't know if this is Australia-wide but there is Headspace in Victoria which is free plus walk-in clinics around the country that are also free. The walk-in clinics are a new government initiative. I'm sorry your shrink is leaving its a bit of a revolving door in psychiatry - you get a good clinician or worker, establish a nice relationship then they leave and you have to start all over again. That happened to me many times in the past. I think its a common complaint. But the govt now recognises urgent need around mental health care that these walk-in clinics are all dotted around the country now. I know its not the same as a good shrink though that you regularly see. I'm just sorry its so expensive. $500 is pretty steep. Who can afford that on a disabled pension. Its over half your income!

@SmilingGecko SmilingGecko that is exactly right it is very expensive. i cant afford it atm i pay $250 but my mental health nurse who is in the know said that she was sure my pdoc would put up the costs. plus i dont like where she is moving to. i will look up headspace but arent i too old? i thought it was only for young people.

@Bunniekins I heard something like that but know of someone living in the country who was in his 60's accessing Headspace. It was either Headspace or a sister organisation like Headspace for older folk like us. It would certainly free up your budget. Ring around tomorrow. My friend got in and did not have to pay a cent and he was 60 something years old. I don't know if theres limited number of sessions or not but its certainly worth looking into. I have not been in touch with him for a long time now but he seemed to be well supported in the community with NDIS and his treating psychiatrist.
