Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

@GezzaP my friend used to use callipers then a walker and found it difficult getting around. The attitudes she got from people weren't very nice. You can see a walker and callipers for God's sake I used to wonder what was wrong with these people. She was also a member of a euthanasia group and she lost a friend because of it. The friend said youve got to get on with living instead of concerning yourself with dying. I wouldnt have expected this from that friend of hers she just took off left her feeling demoralised. Anyway I do understand possibly what may be going on for you, youre just getting frail and old without ruling out other possible causes. I know youve had these falls and passing out as you mentioned. It must be so hard living at home on your own. Do you think it might be due to the operation you had? Youve said you havent been nimble on your feet anyway, its not an entirely new thing for you. Anyway you have my understanding as I have some insight into these things regarding my friend before she died. By the way I dont think your sister is ever going to come around GezzaP, she sounds like a nasty piece of works. Shes going to find out after all the people shes abused and alienated that she will be abandoned in old age, thats if people havent woken up to her games or stopped giving making excuses for her. When people like your sister get old and sick they get even worse to deal with you can ask any nurse at a hospice that puts up with people like this.

Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

@SmilingGecko It might be due to the operation. The feeling of passing out has only started this week. I’ve been particularly cautious this week when walking. Was ok immediately after op. walking to car and I am fine around the house so maybe it’s just the uneven footpaths making me cautious walking.

Cannot explain sense of going to pass out sensation that may be psychosomatic or the op I don’t know.

Don’t remember any of op except vague memory of the anaesthetist putting something in my eye. Presumably the anaesthetic. She injected me in the arm first. Recovered quite quickly. About 1 hour or so afterwards. Was very hungry and thirsty from not eating all day. The hospital gave me a sandwich some biscuits and some coffee after I recovered.

I shouldn’t be frail at 63. But I fear I’m getting that way. I used to be able to walk such a long way. Now I can’t at least not very fast.

I think my sister is very mean and stubborn. She contacted me when she needed to and wished me well for surgery but didn’t bother to ask how it went afterwards. Add expletives.

Pay day for me. Hoping it won’t be late like the last couple of times. I’m very unhappy with my credit union’s merger with another one they are not as efficient.

I’m sorry if I have forgotten to refer to anything else you mentioned but with the forum problems I’m having I can’t see your message. I will look again after I post this one. Sorry for long post.

@GezzaP thats ok love. It might have had something to do with the operation as you said. I know its affecting your feelings of safety and personal independence especially now. I think its good you are taking extra care of yourself when leaving the house. It must come as personally upsetting to you this uptick in events. It would be nice if your sister just did the right thing by you. I think just focus on you for now and what is a steadying influence in your life. You said your neighbours are great which is nice. I had another friend on facebook that used to have falls. He got an emergency device to wear to contact 000 if he fell. He is now going into aged care. He had supports through NDIS at the time and they provided all the extra items he needed to live independently. I think you need more supports in your life but dont know how you would go about getting them. Social workers used to link people in with services when I saw them decades ago. I feel you need some kind of comprehensive plan to have you supported living in the community. That gardener of yours let you down so many times, you just need reliability and consistency which is not much to ask for. I wonder if @wonderingalice1 moderator or @Jynx @tyme peer support could suggest anything for you right now

Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

Now my stupid credit union wants me to download the new bank’s app. I cannot deal with this atm @SmilingGecko . I have too much on my plate already ffs. I have appts tomorrow and Friday morning. I am too tired to deal with this in the afternoons. As soon as you download the new app you only have 48 hours to set it up before the old app doesn’t work. I’ll be sticking with the old app which I know how to operate as long as possible. I am not allowed to drive to bank to get help setting up new app nor am I allowed to go on public transport on my own. I will have to call when I can face it. Why does crap keep happening to me to stress me out? No wonder my blood pressure is high. I wish they wouldn’t email this information in the afternoons when I am trying to relax because I’m tired. I am a morning person.

Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

Yes this stuff it rather vexing @GezzaP I had the same problem dealing with the solar company and consumer affairs a while back. I was just not up to the task and it really pushed my buttons. But thanks to you I finally got the problem sorted out with that rotten company. I find it challenging dealing with things like that when things arent going to plan. Its understandable that you feel this way owing to the credit unions urgent demand with the app and your recent post surgery recovery. I would be peeved with that bank too! How do you think you could start relaxing and block this annoyance out of your mind so you can sleep tonight? Do you have effective strategies that work to shut down the mind to stop thought loops as well as release pent up tension in the body? Or be interested in trying some I use perhaps?

Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

I’m having a stressful afternoon @creative_writer . My bank is changing its name and I have to change app and internet banking. I can’t deal with this for several days as I have appts tomorrow and Friday morning and I am too tired in the afternoon to face ringing them to step me through the process. I need to go in to the bank really I think. But I’m not allowed to drive or go on public transport alone because of my eye surgery. I need help or have to get a taxi. It is too late today and anyway I’m exhausted from all the stress.

How are you?
