Thats good @StuF! Sounds like you got the right shoes. I am happy for you. Now you have to budget for the next month! ha ha. It gets like that doesn't it? You get to try them out tomorrow hope they are nice and comfy for your feet 😊 I think your feet will say thankyou for it.

I won't wear them tomorrow - I always try out new boots/shoes around the house for a day or two first

It would possibly be a tax deduction if you can demonstrate you needed special footwear to be employed and its essential to generate income. Its a bit of a grey area in taxation. Uniforms etc are covered. But things that anyone can wear makes it a bit iffy @StuF @TAB There has to be a relationship between the purchase being tied to income generation. Taxation laws change rapidly so it may not be the same when I studied tax but you can always go to ATO enquiries and ask
