Thats good just go gently with the ciggs @GezzaP. I've worked out what I'm having for lunch a kale stew simmering in a tomato base with onion, garlic, herbs, spices, celery, carrot and butter beans. Its an AI generated recipe today to use up what is in the crisper

Oh kale again hey @SmilingGecko . Hope it’s edible. Really don’t know how you can eat kale. Have had only 1 smoke since 7am. Will allow myself one after lunch then back off again in the afternoon. Still feeling a bit restless, lonely and down today. Missing my sister atm. I can’t help holding on to the hope that she will talk to me. Still haven’t heard from my helper really hope he’s ok. Well enjoy your lunch. Guessing you will go for a walk later. Enjoy.

Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

@GezzaP kale isnt exactly the most edible but I include it as part of my leafy greens.

Thats good with your ciggs, just one step at a time slowly and with intention. You will get there. My father was in the defence forces and even he with a great iron will found it hard to come off ciggs but he did. He went cold turkey. But even with my dad I noticed how difficult it was to give up the habit. In the forces they would get soldiers to clean a tiled floor with a toothbrush and follow orders to a T.

I know how you feel about your sister and longing for contact. For myself, in the end I decided if my brother wanted to be in my life he would reach out to me. I realised I had to let him go. It never was a good relationship so I only say brief hellos every once in a while. I do miss the person I thought he was but it never worked out between us. Hes of the opinion MI are parasitic welfare cheats.

Is it possible for you get out and socialise with your friends in Adelaide? I hesitate with suggestions as you know your situation better than me. I dont know your circumstances but maybe if thats a possibility. I'm just guessing you need a solid place to land, someone with whom you have a shared history so you dont have to start over again getting to know new people. It gets so hard trying to break the ice as we get older

Would you believe I've had some plumbing pipes burst today? Got to get a plumber over. Luckily I caught it before there was water everywhere. I turned the water off at the mains. More expenses!

Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

yeah its a thing when think not a good idea re fuel. am thinking same way @StuF however last week realised what save on specials a fortnight would have more overall effect on budget than extra cost for fuel , which is around 40c/liter atm so if i went for my 200k ish outing to where used to live , cheap supermakt/dift lines, have a stickybeak etc trip say 20 liters=$8 extra , can save that on bulk buying cat food alone say

Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

Yeah @TAB

In this instance I'm less concerned about the cost (I'm working for a reason! lol)

But the school holiday people will be there which will screw parking apart from anything. I'll go next week or something when hol's are over 🙂

But yes, I agree with your logic

Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

Oh @SmilingGecko I’m so sorry to hear about your pipes and the expense of getting a plumber out and it is so inconvenient having to turn the water off. But glad you caught it before it caused any flooding.

Will ask my local friend if he wants to go to the pub tomorrow. We usually go

on a Weds if we go. He hasn’t come in ages. If he doesn’t and I have enough money I might take myself in the afternoon. I have another friend who always goes.

Have tried reaching out to my sister but she didn’t respond. Working on accepting her rejection. She thinks MI is attention seeking.

Allowed myself to have one smoke after lunch. Now back to resisting. Puss has just come in and is kneading on my lap. See if she settles.
Well I hope you can sort out your pipes and that it doesn’t cost too much.

@PeppyPatti wrote "if you write a cover letter admitting gathering email evidence and following the ethics of volunteers has affected my mental health - could that go against me as a formal documentation ? No reason, just asking …"

No, this would be helpful in reporting the actions of the volunteers.

I'm like you and @TAB, my fan hasn't been turned off since 2023! 🤣 No matter how cold it gets I still like the fan on.
