I know what you mean @StuF sometimes paying a bit more for a good quality shoe may work out better in the long term. I bought some Blundstone ladies casual shoes and the sole never wore out and they lasted forever. You can't get that style of shoe in Australia anymore as far as I know.

Yep @SmilingGecko
I'll at least go and visit the one store - that's vaguely local - I've been putting off going to. I've tried everywhere else! Will see what happens! 🙂

@StuF OK see how you go they may stock Blundstone work boots there. Otherwise you can buy from the online Blundstone Australia store if thats what youre after. Its going to cost you a packet but you will have a good boot that will last.

Yeah @SmilingGecko
I try to avoid buying shoes online...need to see if they fit first!
The shop I'm going to has a pretty big range judging by their website, including Blundstone. Will be looking at Oliver boots specifically, thanks to good words from @Bill16 & @TAB

I would limit Olivers to those low sided ones @StuF they were brilliant 15 years ago, lost plot now, are made overseas , plus dont make good model anymore plus stiff and heavy
old guy in chemist yest was saying got Mongrels and magically no more foot trouble.
most common one i had last 15 year were bluesteel but cost a fortune
I would go for brand and comfort and socks can be critical. also take to fitting. you are not in a workshop so dont need thick stiff leather Comfort #1

Hey @TAB
Thanks for the advice! This shop has a big range, as I've said, so looking to try a few.
I agree that 100% comfort is key for me. I want protection of course, but yeah, as you say, I ain't in a particularly dangerous environment lol
