Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

@TAB really miffed because I wrote a reply and accidentally closed my phone so have to start again as it only saves when on laptop.

I spent time with friends in California- Yuba City - and the water there was so bad that the city gave free filtered water to residents. You could brush your teeth with it but that was it. Not as bad as Indonesia and Thailand (made the mistake of brushing teeth with tap water in Koh Samui...oops!) but the water was not good.

I drink a lot of water and am used to the taste of tap water although I do prefer soda water...when I remember to buy replacement gas cylinders for the soda machine.

Some parts of Perth have crappy water, here in the 'Vegas it's not too bad.

I need to sit down and work out whether buying a filter jug and filter cartridges is cheaper than buying the 10 litre bottles at $4.40 each.

GypsyMonroe only drinks running water from the bath tap when we're home, MM doesn't care.

Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

filter jurgs regularly 50% off at woolies @ENKELI my cat wont drink tap water unless its been sitting. it way prefers filtered water. (tap water leaves white gunk in bowl like mine water) bought water always best , still some brands have a taste

if have to use tapwater let it sit , cool it and put slice of lemon in it.

filtered water bit the same. I dont change filters while water still tastes okay, so take no notice of dates

waterwhere I live now seems 'hard' have to use double dose laundry detergent to see slightest of suds ok I use 'washing soda'now ,seems to help but then both alkali ?

maybe tell myself it helps

@MissGremlin I often wonder if my sister is on the forums too. She is the kind of person who would lie to your face while sticking a kn*fe in your back so I should be careful about some subjects.

I'm behind by a few days, what's been happening honey?

I'm battling fatigue, have been researching doctors in my area as I will be needing some new scripts soon.

Having dinner with mum and brother tonight for St Pat's. I have Irish ancestors on both sides of my family and every now and then mum likes to remind us of this!

@StuF I've got a few days to catch up on too.

Best news for the weekend is that the Cats only had a small win over the Dockers. I hope it's the sign of things to come, the cats suck!

Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

Aw thanks @ENKELI I havent done much in the scheme of things

With water filters check out Filteroo - its an Aussie made gravity system that outdoes the best that used to be on the market like the famous USA-made Berkey system.

Filteroo gets out fluoride, chlorine, heavy metals etc.

I would read the independent lab tests before buying any brand model to see how it measures up to other filtration systems.

Some of the Filteroo cartridges are hard to get with supply chain issues but they can be used interchangeably with "Berkefeld cartridge candles"

With the water filters they only last 3 months where I am. They say it lasts longer but the water out this way has got so bad that you turn on a tap and the smell of chlorine is very obvious

I think with this war in Iran a country that produces a sizeable proportion of sulphur we may encounter manufacturing issues with plastics into the future. The filtration cartridges are made with plastics around the base and on the dripping part of the cartridge.

Anyway speak to the dude at Filteroo, he is a genuine vendor, having had his own health journey and creating something better for the Australian market. It cant hurt to ask questions directly about future manufacturing issues and sourcing plastics. I mention him because I found him to be genuine. Who you end up going with is a decision you will have to make yourself

I use on an interchangeable basis Filteroo cartridge candles or Berkefeld cartridge candles, they both fit the Filteroo system

When I cant get cartridges I use Nobles Pureau water from the supermarket which is what my doctor recommended. Nearly all water on the market is a scam. Companies like Coca Cola do backward market integration to capture the drinks market by selling bottled water to the heath conscious which isnt even filtered. I had water tested once and it was no better than tap water.

Its a waste of money

I did my sums and you dont save much compared to cartons of water but may save landfill with water bladders in water cartons you but from the supermarket.

Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

@SmilingGecko I love your comments about Capricorns. My grandmother, mum, brother and I were all born under the sign of Capricorn and none of us showed any traits of the goat. My brother (God rest his soul x) was hopeless when it came to being tidy, despite his mum and our dad being the opposite. Nana mum and I definitely had/have nothing in common with the sign even though according to astrology we are definite Capricorns and not on the cusp. It's probably why never put much credence in star signs.

I like your perspective though, and it is really interesting too see how you are able to use astrology in your own life. And please forgive me if I sound like I'm belittling you, that it certainly not my intention. I have huge respect for you and your alternative methods. 😀 🫂
