Obsidian is a powerful metaphysical tool often used to confront and release oppressive situations, particularly those rooted in trauma, negative patterns, or hidden emotional burdens. Its energy is known for truth-revealing properties, forcing one to face uncomfortable realities, including repressed memories, self-sabotaging behaviors, and deep-seated fears. This makes it especially effective in shadow work, where it helps illuminate and process the darker aspects of the self that may be perpetuating emotional or spiritual oppression.

• Protection: Obsidian acts as a shield against negative energies, psychic attacks, and toxic people, absorbing harmful vibrations and preventing them from affecting the aura. It is believed to seal the aura and remove energetic cords or attachments that may contribute to feeling trapped or manipulated.

• Emotional Release: It helps release long-held emotional trauma, including the effects of abuse, grief, or past injustices, by bringing these issues to the surface for conscious healing and release.

• Clarity & Empowerment: By cutting through denial and deception—both from others and within oneself—obsidian promotes clear thinking, self-awareness, and personal power, enabling individuals to break free from oppressive cycles and reclaim their autonomy.

• Caution: Due to its intense nature, Black Obsidian can be overwhelming, especially for those dealing with chronic depression or deep emotional pain. It is recommended to use it under guidance or pair it with calming stones like Rose Quartz or Selenite to maintain balance.

Many cultures, including the Aztec and Mayan civilizations, revered obsidian for its protective and spiritual potency, using it in rituals, scrying, and healing ceremonies to confront and transform oppressive energies.
