my parents both lived through Depression and the War father used to keep gold bars in house. we used to wash in same bath water every night, mum would make bars of soap from ones too small to use anymore all kids clothes patched and mended, socks darned, grew own meat and veg , milk, only bought fruit, sugar ,flour, spices.didnt drink alcohol or softdrinks.made ginger beer and cordial used to by whole whole wooden boxes or fruit and make preserves and jam, oh father had haircut every 2 weeks in town and used to smoke pouch of tobacco a fortnight til 50s prob cost 60c then lol

I went to see the Dyvinals play at the old Melbourne and someone with all these tags around his neck came up to us and asked if we’d like to meet the band after the played. My friend said,

‘ sorry, we can’t my mum is picking us up after the show.’

oh , junkie old mate (f) used to hang around with said used to around famous band when they were in dumps and effed up. their name sounded like a place of worship

the drummer (were a few,not surewhich one) was kiddy fiddler and went after her youngkids

Guess there is a point when junkies will do absolutely Anything to get a fix.
