Hey @tyme I had a busier than normal day today.
Took my mum to her podiatrist appointment in the morning, and then my partner left work early, so he could take me to my follow up appointment from my Gallstone surgery. I have now been cleared to exercise, so once I get my health care plan done with some physiotherapy sessions on it, I will start to attend a new physiotherapy clinic, that I have done some research on, to start the big job of strengthening my legs, arms, and back muscles that have been wasting away due to my lack of movement while depressed. Once I can start going places without being in pain, I am hoping it will be a game changer for me.
After waiting for over one hour to be seen for my appointment we discussed what they were going to do about my issue of food getting stuck and fixing my hiatus hernia. After having a barium swallow test done, they reported that it was the hiatus hernia that was causing an obstruction to the outflow of liquid, but my surgeon doesn't seem so sure, as I have had my issue way before the hernia came on the scene. They are going to do another endoscopy and if my restriction has returned, they will try to stretch it again. My surgeon is taking 6 months off later in the year, so after I have the endoscopy, he is referring me to another specialist to get a second opinion. As for the hernia, they don't really want to touch it, because it could actually make my swallowing issues worse. At this stage it isn't really causing me any noticeable problems, besides pushing some of my stomach up into my oesophagus. So, it is just a waiting game at the moment.
For the rest of the afternoon, I have been feeling kind of numb. And because of the exertion this morning putting my mum's walker in and out of the car when taking her to her appointment, my back is giving me more pain than usual. So, once I have caught up with my messages on here, I think I will read and book and rest my back.
How have you been doing?
