@Bunniekins I was so close to downloading a pasta dish. Lol
I had a grilled pork vermicelli noodle salad from the Vietnamese shop.

@Bunniekins the main ingredients look healthy, but I am not so sure about the dressing that you pour on it. Not sure what is in it, but it does have a slight oily residue, and it is sticky when dry.

@GezzaP Yes I had to cancel my lawnmower man I havent had him in ages but thought my garden could do with pruning and weeding. I have money in my account but thought I would hold back until I pay off my credit card. Honestly being on such a low income can be positively scary at times. I know how you feel not having enough money to even cover the cost of essentials
I used to belong to a facebook budgeting group for years and now we are seeing news reports that the public is now doing the type of things we used to do - following around supermarket employees who are marking down meat thats about to reach expiry and freezing or canning it immediately! The way we always lived in that budgeting group is the way the general public is living now under cost of living pressures.
I knew one woman who was so budgeting savvy that everything cut price would wind up in her trolley. It was like magic. She used to go to chicken processing plants and get chooks that werent processed properly being sold at cut price. She would go to grocers about to throw out produce at the end of the week and buy up a whole box of fruit and veg for next to nothing and spend the afternoon peeling and blanching vegetables to freeze.
Anyway I empathise with anyone doing it tough. It is hard out there in these troubling times we are currently faced with

Reading your post @SmilingGecko , it reminds me of when I buy things that are marked down, but I don't really need it! In the end, it goes in the bin... I ought to do it properly!

@Glisten happy to help.
Maybe we could invest in some training and take the dogs on the road - G and the Amazing Krazy Kelpies, featuring the most ginger of all gingers, Mr Murdermittens.
The dogs can dance in tutus, jump through flaming hoops, bark the alphabet and paint portraits.
MM will be there to check tickets
We'll just sit back and collect the money.

@tyme @ENKELI my last two dogs were Jack Russells, and according to Google they are known for being smart and playful, and they may share similar energetic and interactive personality with their owners. Of course they do. Lol
I did a quiz to see what dog I am best suited for now days, and it came up with a Golden Retriever. Apparently, their owners are a lot like these fun-loving breeds—friendly, adventurous, and highly social (not at the moment). Dr. Ahlstrom also noticed that Golden Retriever and Labrador Retriever owners can be a bit secretive and analytical.
@MissGremlin
LOL.... yes, labradors are secretive in that they steal food when you're not loooking, then pretend they are innocent!
@ENKELI , yeah. I'll go with the greyhound, although I don't really have the body type that matches lol

@tyme hello havent spoken to you in a while, nice to see you on here! ❤️ Yes that budgeting group was pretty extreme by previous social standards but they were able to raise their families and get by in the end. I've seen all kinds of ingenious ways to spread a budget by the people on there. It was an active group until one of the mods passed away. I no longer do facebook dont know if people were still posting but it was amazing what people could come up with

I am better off than many @SmilingGecko . Just have the occasional tough fortnight. I only eat cheap meat, frozen veg and bananas and eggs. My diet is limited by what I can afford. At least I feel a bit brighter now not so down. Don’t even mention credit card debt. I had a spending spree last time I was manic a common behaviour pattern with bipolar. I’m slowly paying it off. Have to save up next two pay cycles to pay strata fees at the end of the month.

@SmilingGecko , totally! People are so imaginative.
I don't have facebook either. Never have, and I don't feel I'm missing it. I just talk to people like you to get all the ingenious ideas!
