After I saved up and snuck into the city to have my ears pierced she told that girls who do that find themselves with babies before they are married, which was a very serious crime...

When does a person’s past stop becoming their name?
When is failure no longer the loudest thing remembered?
How long must old wounds be carried through every room
Long after apologies, change, and suffering have come?

How do people ask others to grow in healthier ways
While never allowing them beyond who they once were?
Why do old mistakes keep returning like ghosts
Quietly shaping conversations toward distance?

How does compassion become narrowly selective?
Why is understanding easier for ourselves than others?
Why do divided communities dig up buried failures
While giving themselves mercy for their own daily weakness?

When will people let love become larger than judgement?
When will human dignity matter more spreading accusations?
How long will endless condemnation keep dividing hearts?
Even unspoken judgement suffocates love before it grows.
