New Music Thread (for all music, not just new)

New Music Thread (for all music, not just new)

Hi Peoples,

This thread has been done before...but unfortunately it has fallen foul of the forum bug/s.

So a few of us (like @Bunniekins @TAB ) thought it might be time for a reboot.

The idea is simple - post a clip of whatever music you would like to share with the forums community. Link the clip and tag the member/s you'd like to share it with...

Enough preamble. This clip is a bit different to what I will normally share - The Voice is not normally my thing - but I'm glad I stumbled across it today:

@Bunniekins Thanks sharing that. i had not heard about that song before. Thanks sharing it. Sorry to hear you suffered from si. How did you end up dealing with that in your life? (That is if you feel comfortable sharing that.)

Years ago i chatted with (depressed,) women who suffered from this issue in their lives as well. At the time i was amazed at some of the ways such could take place in someone's life. And how past physical and/or emotional abuse, (and the underlying self-hate because of that,) can have strange ways of demonstrating in people's life.

Hey @Mustang67

Your partner sounds like a lovely man. What a wonderful thing he's doing for you and your daughter! Hang onto him! I can understand as a mum, how heartbreaking it would be to have to leave her with your ex. We can only do what we can do, even though it doesn't seem enough.

He wasn't always so great, and I lost a lot because of him. But he realised that if he wanted to have another relationship with me, things needed to change. So, he went and saw a therapist and learnt some tools to deal with things better. We are not perfect, but we have both come a long way and are now stronger than we have ever been.

it has gotten to the point that she fully understands, what sort of a person he is. I knew she was smart enough to work it out. My son doesn't know his father. He walked out on him when he was eight because he got married and his new wife didn't want him to have anything to do with his past, including his son. He agreed! What a d**k!

OMG that is disgusting, how can he abandon his son when he was so young. He definitely is F*%ked in the head.

My son emailed him when he got older and told him what he thought about him. There's been no contact since! 😏

It sounds like he is better off without having someone like that in his life. But it must have been hard on your son though. At such a young age, he probably thought that he had done something wrong.

she basically sits in her room with the door shut playing on her computer all the time I'm glad she's got her room to go to for privacy. I never had a room to myself. Most kids her age are doing the same thing. Is she a gamer? Her father sounds like a bit of a d**k himself.

I didn't have a room to myself either. I had to share with my oldest sister, while the middle sister had a room to herself. Yes, she is a gamer, and she talks to other players while playing. Her father is a complete and utter wa*ker. And my daughter knows it.

My mood is slowly starting to pick up and move pass being upset over the Christmas period. That's great to hear Mustang! I had triggers over Christmas to process and am coming through the other side.

I am happy that you are coming through your triggers over Christmas. I have gone a bit backwards as my daughter cancelled the morning that we were due to go to the hotel over the New Year. i was so disappointed as I really wanted to spend some quality time with her. But in the end, it probably was best as most of the time I slept, still getting over the aesthetic. I couldn't even be bothered to open the curtains in the room to view the fireworks. I just laid there and listened to them. My partner was also tired, as he started a new medication and it was knocking him around as well. At least we got to sleep on big comfortable beds for to days,

.

My reply was just the word SHiT. Very descriptive! 😉 I can be very descriptive at times, especially with my doctor or therapists. Lol

I hope the day is gentle to you! 💛

Since my daughter cancelling, my mood has been low again, and I just haven't felt like talking to anybody. But I am slowing improving once again.

I can remember my childhood a lot easier than I can remember yesterday! 😉 I don't think I have dementia but a 'trauma brain'. I don't know if it's a thing but I'm making it up now! 😁 I'm just listening to music and floating around the social thread. I hope you're both doing okay @PeppyPatti @Mustang ! I've decided to go with a friend on New Years Eve to watch the sunset (I live near a beach) while eating fish and chips. I usually lock myself inside before sunset. I'll still be home to be asleep well before the fireworks. Sounds like a plan. I'm a little bit anxious but also excited. Listen to me rambling on. Sorry. 😊💛

I can't remember a lot of my childhood because of childhood trauma, so basically, I have blocked it out. So, my sisters and photographs are my memories. And unfortunately, because of adult trauma, I have done the same from about my 30's onwards, so I don't remember a lot or retain a lot. That's why I love photos, as they jog my memory.

I hope you had a good time going to the beach to watch the sunset while eating fish and chips. It sounds perfect. I actually suggested the same thing to my partner, but there would have been too much walking involved, and I needed to rest. When I didn't have my back issues, I loved nothing better than getting some chips to eat down at the beach.

@Bunniekins Awesome to hear you found a good man and escaped that life style!

i once had a co-ordinator who experienced that as well. She lived on the streets for years, but a good man got her away from there. Her past nightmare a young girl made her very capable as co-ordinator of our youth services tho. For she knew all the in and outs of street life, and informed me of some of the awful ways the drug and porn industry were 'creaming' young flesh into their services. i really appreciated her knowledge, love and commitment coming straight from collage at the time.

For as a youth worker i worked on the streets with boys and girls who were into drugs, alcohol (and crime,) and sadly almost all girls (and many boys as well,) ended up with bad men not good ones. Especially those who were homeless.

It is a harsh world out there.

Love this song and i love how Sinead sings it.

Hi @Bunniekins I am not going too bad. Still recovering from the operation with a few niggly pains here and there. I am getting over the disappointment of not seeing my daughter for Christmas or New Years. And it will probably be another week or so before I can drive to see her.

How have you been going over New Years?
