Something’s not right

On the Edge

On the Edge

Hi everyone,

I’m putting this on here because I’m too afraid of the consequences of talking about it with friends or family, but it’s eating me up inside (not sure if pun was intended), and I just needed ANYONE’S reinput.

When I was young my Mum had a severe eating disorder. She recently relapsed, but is slowly recovering.

Content/trigger warning
Recently I’ve noticed I’ve been having intrusive thoughts when I’m hungry if it’s not a set meal time, saying “you can’t have that because you’re fat” [edited by moderators]. Or I’ll wait till I’m absolutely starving before I let myself eat something.

I’m scared to talk to Mum about it in case it triggers her, and I’m scared to talk to anyone else in case they overreact.

Someone please tell me, what do I do?

That's fantastic! That's a much nicer outcome that you were able to connect with your mother and resources too. I hope you both feel better moving forward with what you are going through. I'm glad you got to talk with your loved one. I know the difference it makes between strangers being supportive and getting that needed support from a loved one. Both have their place but it is a lot deeper when you can connect with a loved one about such things and be heard and helped. I've been there. It's why I'm fighting so hard all of my conditions and situations to get back to that sort of connection that they took from me. Never take it for granted, it's often a thing the world now likes to attack, so be proud of it and happy you have someone in your life like your mother.

You're very lucky to have someone, don't let society make you feel otherwise and my deepest best wishes in your journey. I hope you feel better soon and get what you need to be happy, safe and feel better. Good luck.

That is lovely. 🥺🙂

Sadly, I don't have a Bible...they kinda took that too.

I'm a recovering believer in God I have had a lot of bad people use God too as forms of abuse and such, I am not well versed in each aspect of the Bible but based off what my loved one was teaching me prior to the world doing to us what they did and are still doing - I am thinking the one you suggested is about believing we are all loved by God and worthy just by being us? Or something to that effect...also anyone know how I get a new Bible when I have zero money to buy one.

I am still frightened of churches so without him (my loved one who is a full believer, that has been dragged away from me for society's cruelty not because we've done anything wrong) I have no safe place to learn more and heal from my religious abuse without him that part of me and my healing has kinda been pursed.

I do appreciate the sentiment for everyone in your comment though it's touching. Thanks.
