Counselling
Started counselling yesterday first time in a year and a half. It’s difficult to tear those scars open to heal.

hi @Stark82 welcome to the forums!!
it's so great to hear that you've started counselling, good on you for reaching out. opening up can be challenging, especially at the start. it can be draining too so please do be gentle with yourself and take your time.
do you have a post-therapy self-care activity that you're doing? i find that having something to look forward to afterwards or something that relaxes me helps.

I don’t have as of yet but I do have a sleepless night activity before each session. Hopefully I can work on this over time!

@Stark82 ohh i'm curious, what's the sleepless night activity if you don't mind sharing?
sometimes my post-therapy self-care was grabbing a sweet treat or karaoke singing in my car... other times it was a nap or rewatching my comfort show! some sessions are lighter than others, but the journey is worth it!
feel free keep updating us on how your recovery journey goes, we'd love to here how you go (no pressure of course) 💙

Hey @Stark82
I just wanted to say that I am so very proud of you for attending counselling for the first time in a year and a half, which takes a tremendous amount of strength to do that!
I'm wondering how you are feeling since your first session back? It is so okay if you can't figure out what you are feeling or haven't formed any opinions yet as it is early days.
Have you got anything nice planned for this weekend? I know doing something nice for yourself after a counselling session is very much needed.
Hope to hear from you soon 🙂
