Icebreakers time!

Welcome forumites!!

If you’ve attended groups (through either Guided Recovery or RecoveryClub), then you’ll be familiar with all the fun lil icebreakers that the amazing facilitators come up with! 🧊

With our forums community growing each day, we thought it’d be a nice way to get to know each other and connect here too!

The mods will take turns posting a new icebreaker question each week!!

The first icebreaker question is... *insert drumroll*

Which frog do you relate to most at the moment and why? 🐸
*or if there's another frog that's not in the image, feel free to share or describe it!

Re: Icebreakers time!

Hello forum friends,

I'm jumping in with an icebreaker today, and I want to know: Who’s your favorite cartoon character and why?

I'll go first, I think it'd have to be Uncle Iroh from Avatar the Last Airbender

He's wise, he's learned from his past and doesn't let him define who he is, he is ready to help others in need, and he loves a good cuppa!

If you can't think of a cartoon character, feel free to just share your favourite fictional character!

@Ru-bee

I love Dora The Explorer because I am learning Spanish. Also she is curious about everything. Also she has a purple backpack and purple is my favourite colour.

@Ru-bee

I am a sucker for the old Looney Tunes cartoons. Although I don't have a specific cartoon character I adore, I am a huge fan of the voice actor that spent his career lending his unique voice to those characters, Mel Blanc.

Re: Icebreakers time!

Yes, lets give the voice actors some props @Lowrida29 it's interesting to see a bit of a shift towards hiring famous actors to voice cartoons more recently, when voice acting is a craft of its own! I think we lose a bit of magic when we give those roles to regular actors

Re: Icebreakers time!

True, @Ru-bee.

I wish production studios could incentivise programs for training voice actors and dubbing artists.

Re: Icebreakers time!

Oh yes, I like Looney Tunes too @Lowrida29 . Taz was always my favourite as a child. I also like Wiley Cyote.

@Oaktree @Ru-bee fellow purple lovers! 😍🥰💜💜💜

My favourite cartoon... I dont know really. I dont watch much tv/movies. But maybe I will go with Aggretsuko.

Re: Icebreakers time!

@Ru-bee uncle iroh is such a good one!! so many great characters in that show.

hmm this is hard, there's so many good ones but i'd say Donkey from Shrek is up there - he's funny, he's a good friend to Shrek, he tries to put a smile on everyone's face, etc.
