Re: Increased sex drive

No I'm not getting any help for anything. The only thing I'm doing is taking a sleeping pill at night so I actually sleep and that's giving me a touch of relief. But besides that every aspect of my bipolar I'm trying to control with sheer mind power which ain't working that great when it's the mind that's not well.

I just don't like the way medication makes me feel. I decided I rather be me and ill instead of a zombie but sane. That's just the way meds so far have effected me

@Former-Member, I respect your decision, and it's wonderful you have such insight into what's going on. There is another forum member I know (who hasn't been around for a while). He also has bipolar and is carrying on without meds. That's @Silenus. At least you know there are the meds if needed at possibly extreme times. Counselling is something you might also consider as an alternative. It may help strengthen mind and will power. I no longer see a psychologist myself but many people find their help great.

I don't sadly do well with any for of therapy. I really wish I could because I got so much pain in me I would like to get out in a safe manner but generally I end up so sick from brining it up.

Re: Increased sex drive

So I've decided to end all my relationships with people. I just feel like they are all better without me. I also don't want to depend on people. You come into the world alone and you leave alone my mum would tell me. I just don't want to be a burden on anyone. I don't want to be the friend they have to worry about or the friend that takes up there time or energy. Plus I just don't deserve love.

Re: Increased sex drive

@Former-Member hiya! That's a lovely username you have. I've come across this beautiful black cat recently on my way home. I think there's a classic distinction missing from people's minds who harbour lust for others and intense desire and acting out those desires in the real world. I'm assuming you're finding difficulty in combining the two. In my experience with bipolar I harbour many sexual desires whilst having no sex life to speak of. I am medicated and I agree that it sucks. Please don't cut yourself off from society because of your fears about dependence. Do you think it took a single person to build this organisation? Collaborative, team effort are the foundations of any society and I'll be damned if you can find me a historically accurate account of one person building a civilisation by themself. My suggestion would be to nurture friendships with people or creatures you like. I know it's difficult to take a chance on new people you meet in life but just remember that you're new to them too. Goodnight.

@Former-Member, I understand your impulse, to cut off from people. I have done this in various ways at different times in my life due to social anxieties, amongst other things. But I am much better off when I've got relationships with other people. I also believe everyone deserves love.
