Too much treatment?

Too much treatment?

Hi guys has anyone ever thought they are doing too much for their health. People are constantly telling me i need to take care of myself just as much as others but i just think im doing way too much but dont know where to start in just reducing it abit esp in the form of treatment.

So at the moment on a monthly basis these are the appointments i attend :
Chiropractor- once a month
Osteopath- 2-3 times a month
Gp - 4 times a month so once a week unless i need more
Naturopath - once a month
Nutritionist- 1-2 times a month
Psychologist -once a month however im about to start a program for self harm that goes at least once a week with a face to face session
Massage therapist 2 times a month

In between that im studying an online course, full time carer as well as being a primary carer for my sisters and trying to fit in time to exerciseand care for our horses

Im starting to think too much treatment doesnt really help but dont know how to fix it as well as trying to ignore the fact that everytime i so something for myself im selfish.

Hi @Former-Member

What a GREAT question!

Treatment and looking after our health is meant to increase our wellbeing.

If you are finding it stressful or it's causing a negative impact on your health, then I think it's worth looking at and evaluating what is essential and what is not adding any value (or causing more harm!)

What do others think?

Re: Too much treatment?

I juat find that i am endlessly at appointments. I seem to have at least one a day or it be a few saya off then 2 or 3 in the same day. Ive had 9 appointments in one week at one point. I just think irs getting abit much but i dont really know where to deduce anythin. Im just doing as everyone keeps telling me and unfortunately alot of people are just telling me to grow up toughen up and get over it when it xomes to my anxiety depression and ptsd.

Hi there @Former-Member,

That sounds really full on doing all of that, do you get time to do things for yourself that are more self-care focused and help you to feel good at all? Such as hobbies, interests, etc.

It's great that you are doing all of those things and really helpful but also really important to put time into things that allow you to feel creative and stimulated, what things do you enjoy?

The only 'self care' i do is the appointments but other than that no. Oh and i ride horses prob every 2 weeks as i have my own.
Other than that if im not at appointments im caring for my pop or my sisters or im using my down time to do my study work.
