Re: Another MH death in custody

Hello @Till23

I'd like to apologise for being triggered. It was an emotive issue for me and I had my own baggage.

So it wasn't a new news item for you. Fair enough.

So "we all knew" the issue. But if others use "we" I can feel that excludes me, but you say you meant to express solidarity. Thankyou.

You said you'd put up your hand to educate stakeholders and would let me know the outcome. I didn't know what meant but guess I took it as overreach and arrogance instead of being appreciative of any efforts you might be taking. I'd like to know more.

This is a really beautiful message and honest reflection @Dimity.

It can be so vulnerable to look back on a situation and acknowledge where there may have been room to sit with or react to things differently.

Please remember that your feelings were understandable given everything you have experienced up until this point - sometimes our triggers take over, and in these moments, how we repair is what matters. So, thank you for this message.

This is a space of learning, growing, and most importantly, allowing ourselves to be seen as we are. I am really proud of you for responding and inviting @Till23 to share more about their experience. I am hoping you are both able to talk things out further when you're ready.

Sending big hugs your way. 🥰

Hey @Dimity ,

Thank you for clarifying. I haven't been online so I'm only just catching up with things.

I think, as humans, we can all relate to moments where we've been triggered. Sometimes, there is good reason to, whereas others, I've been able to step back later and realise maybe things were different than I'd first imagined.

@Dimity , I just want to take this opportunity to acknowledge that it takes a lot of strength to be able to reflect and share your reflections with the community.

Till23, I don't want to tag you because I feel it's important for you to return to this space when you feel able to. I just want to let you know that your voice is also heard, acknowledged and appreciated.

Hugs to all.
