Yes they do look very much like that @Former-Member They won't colour-up for several weeks yet (to look like their parents).

They're in the aviary corner, looking a bit scared - I would be too, if I just came out of the nest.

So I didn't go inside for a closer look, in case I scared them more.

They will hopefully become more confident soon.

Thanks heaps @Former-Member I need encouraging.

My car engine made weird banging or flapping noises, on the way to work (this morning).

Something seemed very wrong with it, but I couldn't discover what.

The engine seemed to over-heat (sounded like sizzling).

It gave me a big scare (car problems do) - I wasn't sure if I could drive it home.

I booked the mobile mechanic for tomorrow (after work), to check my car for me.

I counted 5 baby Java finches, when they all finally came out of the nest.

They're all fully-grown, & fully feathered, & they fly well.

They look like Super-sized Zebra finches.

Their beaks are black, but will turn orange like their parents soon.

They don't have their white cheek-patches yet, but will get those soon.

I really want my new Bengalese finches to breed (after losing my previous Bengalese) - no sign of any baby Bengalese yet.
