Lifelong CPTSD, struggling with relapse
This is a new place for me.. since I was 13 I struggled with depression and self harm. It got really bad around age 21, that's when I started on anti-depressants which worked for a while. My depression became background noise and I threw myself into work where I found the love of my life. After 7 years we now have a 6 month old who is absolutely perfect. I dont think she is the cause of my relapse because she is honestly a perfect baby.
Over the last week something just changed and I started having anxiety attacks again. My partner doesn't know how to talk to me and I dont know how to help him understand because I don't know what I need. He is amazing and loves me so much and I am horrible to him when I get emotional for no reason which makes everything worse.
I know why i'm like this, a lifetime of emotional abuse, that's not the issue. The issue is how to deal with it. I've tried talk therapy, alternative life coaches, medication, natural therapies, deep breathing, positive thinking.. only one thing works to snap me out of a tailspin... self harm.
Im not suicidal, I would never abandon my daughter but I also don't want when shes older to ask where all my scars came from.
I'm not sure what im doing here but trying anything is better than doing nothing, right?
