Trust

Trust

Hi all,

So I had my first counselling session. Wow, the things you talk about! I came out with so many more things to think about going right back to my childhood. All in all, my devastation and feeling of total betrayal feels justified. Now to try and work through how to trust again and move forward. First step is to gain some self confidence and self worth by gettng back into the workforce.

Re: Trust

HI @NHP47

Welcome to the Sane forums, I'm gald you found us 🙂

Thank you for your post, it sounds like your first session went well. A good sign to come out pondering more than when you first walked in, I think so anyway. I hope you enjoy your journey with your therapist, open to ups, downs and around and arounds, it's all part of the journey.

I wonder if you'd like to take a look at a few threads which are around trust and self confidence these can be found here, here and here. I hope these are a good starting point for you.

Look forward to seeing you posting again.

Take care,

pebbles 🙂

Re: Trust

Hi @NHP47

How are you going today?

I'm curious about the Trust title of your thread. What trust are you referring in - trusting in the therapeutic process with your counsellor? Trusting yourself to be courageous and vulnerable as you explore the layers?

Tell us more of your thoughts 🙂

You mentioned taking steps to get back into the workforce. What would be your ideal job? Have you thought about what training /study you may need to get there? It's definately worth it 🙂

kind regards,

Frog

Re: Trust

Hi @NHP49, trust is hard after being hurt. Itw so good you've started to explore why & how. Careful diving back into work quickly, maybe part time and build up. Maybe you could do a TAFE course, what things would you like to do?
