Re: Anyone want to catch-up? Join here

@Cuddlebear I told my mum that I wanted to get one of those leafy green veggies that she tends to steam/cook sometimes because those are pretty good and I wanted to steam/cook them myself and eat them in my daily life, so she suggested I come with her so she can show me what it actually looks like so that I’ll know for next time on what type I need to exactly get. Have you been to the Chadstone shopping centre? She also said that the new/current version of that mall is really nice so I’m going there with her this Sunday.

yes it makes me a lot better, though the next shift (the shift after this Saturday) that I’ve booked is on the last week of this month but I’m gonna see how I’m gonna go by continuing to attend the workshops within the next two weeks from now, and see if I’d be able to get better with those skills…yeah I think it’s ridiculous how we have to follow a certain framework according to the training AND what the supervisors have told us by having to come up with the most generic and slightly repetitive things to respond to the help seekers with 😕

@Shaz51 I didn’t realise you went through a fire. Was it a bush fire? That’s very scary thing to experience and I’m sorry the fire had damaged stuff too 😞 I see now what’s motivated going through your things and declutterring.

It’s ok if hubby takes all day with MH it is a bit of a struggle.

House fire was caused by the clothes dryer @Cuddlebear

Had to dry some clothes for mum who was in hospital and it started a fire

The house had to be demolished

Yes I like hubby to take his time , all good at the end 👍

Re: Anyone want to catch-up? Join here

@Blackcloud Yup I’ve been to Chadstone. It’s huge and I don’t go there often. I like smaller shopping places lol and the shopping strips near me are easy to navigate. Good idea for your mum to show you the vegetable so you can steam it at your place and yum yum whoever you want.

That’s a really good plan to attend the workshops and see how things go. I don’t know why they insist on generic answers. It means it’s very hard to directly respond to each person’s call based on their unique situation.

@Shaz51 Oh my goodness that is an awful thing to happen. Sounds like it turned into a big fire considering the house had to be demolished. Are you in a new place now? I’m just grateful everyone got out of fire safe. What an awful thing to happen I’m so sorry it happened.

Yeah exactly in the end it is all good and that the important thing. You both sound like a really good match for one another.

Re: Anyone want to catch-up? Join here

@Cuddlebear yeah, for me in that case it is really hard to follow it. I feel like crisis supporters should be allowed to communicate the same way as peer workers or counsellors do to be honest, I feel that would be much easier said than done, instead of following certain phrases that meets the CARE framework… maybe that’s just me 🤔

Re: Anyone want to catch-up? Join here

@Blackcloud Yeah I get organisations use frameworks but this just seems limited and lots of people who have reached out to them havnt had a good experience. I’m not sure it works well for the people reaching out.

Re: Anyone want to catch-up? Join here

@Cuddlebear Yeah I get why lots haven’t had good experiences either :((

also I have a session with my OT this afternoon shes gonna watch me how I iron my clothes because ironing is something I still need more work on. But at the same time it’s such a boring task to do….🥲🥲

Re: Anyone want to catch-up? Join here

@Blackcloud That’s good you’ve got OT today I’m sure they can make some suggestions re ironing. I don’t like ironing either and buy clothes that don’t need it lol.

Im waiting for my support worker they’re nearly an hour late got held up with a repair person. I’m sitting here with a lot of anxiety and panic so hopefully they arrive soon. Being at home alone is awful.

Re: Anyone want to catch-up? Join here

@Cuddlebear Oh yeah I can imagine the anxiety part especially when they turn up late 😕 it’s the worst feeling!

But I hope your support worker will come soon 🙂

also I feel like with the essay I’m working on i may as well end up getting somewhere within the 60s for the final mark. Obviously my paragraphs are nowhere near the above standard level I would think/say lol I just wish it was all over but it is due on the 1st September so I hope I can get it all done before that date. I know I can apply for an extension but I wanna see if I’ll be able to finish it all before the original due date
