little voices

little voices

i have been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder and ptsd some time ago now and am medicated. this morning however i was walking into my kitchen and a little voice said my name. it came up behind me it was so real. i know what my psychdoc would say i know what my family would say but i believe it was real. i believe it was something not my mind playing tricks on me. the little voice did not come from my mind it came from the space behind me.

Re: little voices

Hey @Bunniekins, thanks for sharing your experiences with the community!

I must say, great timing for this topic and such a good question to be asking yourself. I am about to post a new thread, and I was already going to tag you in it about hearing voices and psychosis! This is my experience, and I am diagnosed with schizophrenia.

I have learned that there are many possible explanations in the hearing voices groups I have facilitated over the past 8 years. I understand there is no evidence to substantiate theories about why and how people hear voices. It can be an individual perspective often influenced by our life experiences and beliefs.

The main reason people reach out for support is becuase of the distress and the relationship a person has with the voices, auditory hallucinations or your individual explaination for what you hear. We don't strive to stop the voices but change your relationship with them and work towrds living an meaningful and fulfilling life with or without symptoms.

I am believe the community may have some insights to share with you also!

Take care

RiverSeal

Re: little voices

@RiverSeal thank you RiverSeal 🙂 i havent heard the voice for years but i used to all the time. it is like a female gremlin anyway that is how i picture it 🤔 my middle son who has schizophrenia and autism has clear groupings of voices, some are entities and some are voices.

Re: little voices

@Bunniekins I so wish I could say what I want to say in regards to spiritual gifts and schizoaffective disorders, as I have had voices say my name throughout my lifetime, prior to my workplace trauma induced ptsd, anxiety and depression. You can probably guess what I want to say as you are thinking the same thing.

Re: little voices

lol @Bunniekins good to see you too, I know some people who have been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorders can get offended when spiritual gifts are mentioned, so I try to hold back saying anything much. Especially as some of these people are gifted, whilst others aren't and some can have a mixture, and it can be dangerous to some if they believe that they are receiving divine / spiritual guidance when they aren't. As long as the voices aren't telling you to harm yourself or others.
