My Poem: The Door

My Poem: The Door

Lights low

No sound

Four walls with no way out

Stuck in this room

Where there's no room to move

Clothes on the floor creating a path to the door I can't seem to step out of

I lay here still

Unable to move from the spot I woke up in

Feeling tired and weak from the food I don' t eat

Stuck on a phone

Talking to people I barely know

Empty words used

To feel less alone

Paralysed in this state

Wanting to escape

Staring at a door 6 feet

but so far out of reach

Re: My Poem: The Door

@Hazard357 Thankyou for sharing your poem, it describes feelings I know I and many others have felt.

We also have a poem thread at Roses are red, violets are blue, here's a poetry thread, from me to you! (TW) , I tend to share ones I find whilst doom scrolling on Facebook, but other members post their poetry masterpieces for our minds to consume and admire.

Re: My Poem: The Door

Inside the room, a beautiful soul

With emotions they can't control

But in the darkness there is light

You will feel great tonight

Where there's little space

Here's a hug that you can embrace

Legends like you survive the dark

I hope this poem will light a spark

Just have faith in the darkest times

You're not a sum of your failures and crimes

You are more than meets the eye

Tear off the roof and look to the sky

To the stars direct your gaze

Let it clear all the haze

Because this is just a phase

Break the door, crush the walls

Leave these dark, empty halls

Go outside, be the light

Because your life shifts tonight

Here's a counter poem for you my legend
