NPD MOTHER

NPD MOTHER

Background

My M is NPD. She's overseas. We're LC

Previously, she did not just abused me physically, mentally and verbally. But she did all extremely nasty things:
She called me a liar for buying a house, buying properties, for graduating Unis.
And i did this despite her distractions.

during school last time she will beat me up for studying, making friends. she fought w every single one of my friends' parents.
even during uni she will keep calling me to go home and not attend uni. she called me weird to study/attend school. before exams she will keep calling me to fail.

she went as far as calling australian government to revoke my residency, call my prop mgr last time to kick me out from my apartment.
she stole my cash (from my cash job) to gamble.

she really wanted me to fail.
When I did not, she smear campaigned me.

RECENT ISSUE

Told her I have a genetic disease. For the purpose that the others to get checked. To prevent further serious diseases - cancer.
She laughed, called me stupid, and my doctor stupid.
I'm in an advanced economy Western country. She's in Asia, a third world country.
She kept telling me how idiot I was that I have a disease.
this disease's symptoms have been prevalent since I was a child.
But she kept laughing at me when I had the symptoms.
In fact she kept telling everyone, when I was sick, that I am faking it. And she told my teachers or guardians to tell me to get up and work/study - making it hell to me.
She is also the person who beat me up in public, screaming that I was a liar for scoring first rank in school.
She also is the person who beat me up for going to school, uni, classes, studying for exams. Kept persuading to fail every exams.
But I finished w flying colours and got a good job after.
She is also the person who laughed at me calling me liar for achieving what I had achieved.

QUESTION
How do I deal with the hatred towards people in general?
How do I deal with the need to feel better than other people?
Because most people will have someone, I don't.
I have people who corrode me.

I am exhausted.

Hello @PHOENIXMEI,

Welcome to the forums and thank you so much for this honest and vulnerable post.

Where to begin - I wish I could give you a hug. This sounds so incredibly painful for you to have gone through from such a young age.

You absolutely deserved to be nurtured, supported, and unconditionally loved by your mother. I am so sorry to read that she has treated you with so much control, judgement, and disrespect - you didn't deserve this at all.

It's amazing that despite all of this, you have been able to excel at uni and strive towards your goals - that is huge. You should be so proud of yourself, these efforts deserve to be celebrated. But it is no wonder you are exhausted... I can imagine you would be needing lots of care and nurturing right now, but that it would also be hard to know what that looks like - is that right?

Regarding your question, is this in reference to your feelings or mum's?

Again, thank you so much for sharing this with us. I have no doubt that you will find an abundance of support and understanding here - you have definitely come to the right place. 💕

Talk soon,

AuntGlow. ✨

Re: NPD MOTHER

Hi @PHOENIXMEI

It sounds like these questions are really important for you to find answers to. I wish I had some straightforward answers for you, but it's very hard for me, or anyone else to know these answers as we don't yet know you, so any answer would be a guess or assumption, and often that's not really helpful.

What I think might be helpful is to talk about these topics a bit more, as often talking can help us to get a bit more clarity and understanding of ourselves. Knowing where these feelings and beliefs come from can help us to know how to best address them.

What do you think?
