Struggles with mental health

Struggles with mental health

Here’s a thoughtful, honest, and impactful message you can post on the SANE Forum, striking a balance between vulnerability, self-awareness, and your desire to be understood:

Title: Struggling with Depth, Disconnection, and Emotional Exhaustion

Hi everyone,

I’ve been sitting with a lot of conflicting thoughts lately, and I wanted to share them here because I’m tired of being misunderstood or told to "just be positive." I’ve always been someone who feels things deeply—pain and frustration with life and status as a temp migrant. I have a strong inner world, and sometimes it feels like that makes me an outlier.

I’m surrounded by people who say they care, but I often feel like a miniscule group of people genuinely listens without trying to fix me or judge me. I cherish those rare friendships, but I also feel drained—mentally and emotionally—especially when I'm expected to be cheerful. I have been contemplating a job change, but the uncertainty surrounding my visa status is hurting my prospects.

I’m an introvert, I connect with dark music, and I’ve had a history of feeling like an outsider since I was born. Some days, I want to isolate and beat myself, while other days, I crave being heard without having to put on a mask.

I don’t know what this all adds up to—burnout, depression, existential fatigue? All I know is I feel emotionally raw, and I’m looking for a space where people won’t downplay that or tell me to just “look on the bright side.”

If you relate, or have any words, I’d really appreciate it. I’m not expecting a fix or a new job—just maybe a moment of human connection that feels real.

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day/night.

Re: Struggles with mental health

@rav3n, WOW, that's awesome. I have heard great things about Coorg. It's one of my must see hill stations.

My family is from Chennai, but I have relatives from Bangalore.

I used to love cricket. But, I am equally in love with soccer due to my English premier league team.

@Lowrida29 often times when i talk about Coorg, no has even heard of it so it's really nice to know that you have 😊

oh cool, a few my relatives live in Bangelore too! i've never been to Chennai but after watching the movie Chennai Express, my sis and i wanted to visit it haha.

i don't follow any sports, but i've seen lots of soccer clips and i get the hype. it seems pretty intense and fun too! so much running involved though, i envy the stamina soccer players have!

@rav3n, I'd recommend visiting Pondicherry, Kanyakumari and Chennai for the beaches and food, as well as hill stations like Kodaikanal, Ooty and Munnar (although it is in another state).

Re: Struggles with mental health

i'll keep that in mind, thank you!! Pondicherry and Ooty have been on my bucket list as well @Lowrida29 i've been to Alappuzha & Munnar a few years ago, it was lovely. similar vibes to Coorg, only we got to stay in a boat house which was cool.

have you been up north to delhi and it's neighbouring cities/states?

Re: Struggles with mental health

@rav3n. Ooh, Kerala is blessed to have these spots.

I have never been to Delhi in years, though I have been to Goa before. Also, I want to visit Pune and Mumbai, and have been to this hill station called Nainital.

Re: Struggles with mental health

@Lowrida29 it does! i'm visiting Kerela again in Jan for my friend's wedding so i'm looking forward to exploring some other parts. I went to Goa too, the sunset from the beach was really lovely. i never heard of Nainital before, there's so many gems in India!

Re: Struggles with mental health

@rav3n. True. You get hidden gems amongst a sea of mediocrity and corruption.

Organising a wedding in Kerala sounds awesome. Where is the wedding held?

Re: Struggles with mental health

ah yes, unfortunately, that is the case @Lowrida29

i think it's a place called Elavoor and there might be another function in Kadukutty (i haven't to those parts of Kerala before). have you heard of them?
