Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

I lost all my supports

I lost all my supports

TW : Suicide

Im really sorry if this isnt the right place, ive never reached out like this before Im sorry. Im not really sure how to start this...but I feel like I’m falling apart and I don’t know where else to turn. About four months ago something happened in my life (I dont want to delve into this), but it shook me completely! Since then, I’ve been doing my best to get through it with the help of my NDIS supports (counselling/DBT focused therapy twice a week with my social worker, monthly OT, and regular meetups with my support worker). My supports are a lifeline i feel at the moment. Then all of a sudden two weeks ago my NDIS funding suddenly ran out. No warning. No backup plan. Everything just stopped! All i hear is silence. My OT text to say she would call to check in, that was last Friday and still no call. Beatrice my support worker has been cancelling quite a lot and also doesnt respond to my texts. Tne minute I had support, and the next I had nothing. I've heard nothing. Now I’m sitting with all this, yuck, and the suicidal thoughts are getting louder and more constant. I feel so alone and lonely. I'm scared and exhaustedAnd honestly, I don’t know how much longer I can keep doing this on my own. I’m not even sure what I need right now I just needed to say it somewhere.

Has anyone else been through something like this? Losing supports when you need them most?

Thanks for reading/listening- Mel

Re: I lost all my supports

Hi Mel22, welcome to the forums and good to have you reaching out this morning when you are feeling so alone.

It sounds like a lot has happened very quickly and that you are reeling from these changes! It sounds especially hard when these are people you are used to relying on as well.

Keep reaching out here to the forums and connecting with others here.

A reminder that if you do feel unsafe in any way to reach out to crisis services

Lifeline: 13 11 14 or Crisis Chat

Suicide call back service: 1300 659 467 or online counselling

If in immediate danger: 000

Re: I lost all my supports

@MotherDuck @Can you talk to those who may be able to get your support up and running again?

eg.,

1. Plan manager

2. Support co-ordinator

3. NDIS LAC

your plan may roll over and funds be available again… idk
