Seeking help

I am in a tough situation right now. I am living with an ex in seperate rooms but it's quite clear they've moved on - intimate- as their door is just across from mine. I tried to make boundaries around this but they were unheard. I have a bunch of support services I've started going to, contacted community housing, been searching and searching for a new place with only one potential place to move. They feel a complete stranger to me now and I feel unable to trust anyone. Hearing "it" is a lot and I blame myself for this situation. It's very upsetting.

Re: Seeking help

hey @Pixelle i'm so sorry that your boundaries aren't being upheld by your ex. it sounds incredibly frustrating and upsetting, especially in your own home! you deserve to be able to feel safe and heard in your home, and i really hope you're able to find a new space where you feel respected. i like the saying, "you don't have to trust the person, you just have to trust that you'll be able to survive and get through whatever comes your way". we can't control how people behave, but we do have control over how we respond. the fact that you've reached out to multiple services and you're taking action to change things shows great strength. 💙

also - would you like me to move your thread to the 'Managing Relationships' space instead? Let me know what you'd prefer 😊

Re: Seeking help

There is about 40 levels of wrong happening to you just now @Pixelle and I wish I had some magic words or a wand I could wave about to fix it, but I can't.
Broken trust is totally unfixable, and it makes it harder to trust someone the next time, and the time after that.

Pixelle, there are actually decent people out there, the trouble is finding them...
And as hard as you are looking for them, they are looking for you.
Because we have "been there done that" and know the pain involved in what you are going through and we care enough about our fellow human beings to throw out a hand and see if it gets taken.
And if you need to just get out for your own sanity on short notice, I have a spare bedroom you can have for however long it takes if you need it. Just throwing it out there so you know at a bare minimum you have a hidey hole you could run to if you need to.
Think of it as you have got your "worst case scenario" covered.

And I am quite sure it is not just me, but there is a lot of people on this forum that would do the same.
PM me if you want my details to just write down in case everything goes pear shaped in a hurry.
We got your back.
