I'm in Qld too @Pepsimax, so I can really relate to the critical shortage of acute beds in psych wards. I was tired of being turned away in high levels of distress, so I took out private health cover. I can't really afford it and it only leaves me a small amount of money each fortnight after bills and my premium comes out of my pension, but it is worth having as it is much easier to get a private psych bed.
