As @outlander suggested, do you have any distractions that you find helpful. TV is a good one. Using some of the Forum threads can be helpful too.

going to hospitals and seeing someone we love sick does cause distress and with us we are extra sensitive so yes it would be affecting you greatly. and being distressed often does bring up all the other things as well @Pepsimax
